I didn't see a thread for this, and with the season finale coming up on Monday, now would be a good time to open a discussion.

So... anybody watching it?

I'm watching and loving every episode of it. A worthy prequel to Breaking Bad, by far.

So the season finale:
Much like it's predecessor, the episode before the season finale was more intense than the finale itself. It was still a pretty good episode, though. Between the bingo hall breakdown and Marco's death, we get to see a lot of emotion from this episode. Jimmy acquires Saul's pinky ring, and he turns away from a high-profile job at a law firm and drives off to a future uncertain to the audience. Good stuff.
I didn't care for Breaking Bad. Would I like this?

Better Call Saul is a lot like Breaking Bad in the flow of the plot, but it focuses on generally more lighthearted topics and leans more to the comical side of things while still keeping some interesting drama elements.

My mother didn't like Breaking Bad, but she loves Better Call Saul. So I couldn't say for sure if you'd like it or not. I would say it's worth a try at the very least.

I've really enjoyed it, though the season played out far differently than I expected. But still, I think they've done a great job making us care about Saul's transformation into the character we know and love (while still making us know and love Jimmy!), and they've avoided becoming a smarmy procedural, as I initially feared.
