Hannibal
Has anyone else seen this? I've only just started it because a really good friend got the entire first season in HQ from her friend, and we've been watching it.
I really, really like it so far. One downside is definitely that even though the stories are really interesting and some [most, actually; or at least the important ones] characters and actors are fantastic, the writing is kind of painfully corny at times. If you can get past that, though, I think it's a really great series.
kind of makes you crave meat though i am not gonna lie

I saw one episode and got really hungry and I became scared of myself.
I've heard nothing but good things about this show though. Which is cool, because the concept kind of worried me, with how a story like Hannibal Lector's would translate to Network TV. I hope networks start going for things that might be a little "riskier" in the future. NBC's usually pretty decent at this, since in recent years they've kept shows on the air based almost solely on acclaim (somehow, 30 Rock went 7 seasons. Community is on season 5. They would've been lucky to last two on a channel like Fox or CBS).

^ I would echo the good sentiments you've heard. Do be warned that, like I said before, sometimes the writing is almost like a soap opera and you're just like WHO EVEN TALKS LIKE THAT but thankfully most of the actors are really great so you almost buy it [except the few that are o k in which case it's a little painful...] but, overall, the concept of the show and the delivery by the really prominent actors are really really amazing and I definitely recommend it. Also, cool gory murder scenes. That's always a plus.
and dude don't even feel bad I made fish for dinner after marathoning this show because I was craving dead things... we have all experienced this

i've been a fan of the Hannibal films right from 'Man Hunter' and, personally i think this is one of the best TV shows ive ever watched. Mads Mikkelsen's Dr Lecter is simply stunning: his on-screen presents and his delivery of the dialogue is great.
plus don't get me started on Gillian Anderson, Lara Jean Chorostecki, Eddie Izzard, Gina Torres, or Laurence Fishburne. all great. or the EPIC suit / tie combos that Mads wears.
started watching season 2 last week and it gets even better!
[love it]

OH MAN I FINALLY GOT TO WATCHING SEASON 2, UP TO I THINK EPISODE 8 OR 9
OHHH MAN
oooh my god, I just LOVE how at the beginning of the series, you feel so much for Will but Hannibal is like this friggen creature so far removed from humanity you're just like "how the hell does he exist, how was that once a person" and then slowly but surely you see Will, who you totally sympathized with, fluidly and believably turn into that kind of man. Ohh man this is good
FINALLY getting caught up with the show and holy s*** I'm addicted. Four episodes into season 2.
just some observations:
1. mads mikkelson **** kills it holy wow
2. i love how the show looks so beautiful and the music is so noisy and jarring, the combination creates such a great sense of uneasiness
3. freddie is just the worst omg
4. the black devil-antler-thing that will always envisions scares the piss out of me EVERY TIME it's on screen. EVERY TIME.

Out of curiosity. Has anyone who follows the show read the books? I recently just started reading Red Dragon, and it's neat seeing how the characters are portrayed and how they are similar/different, as well as how even though the plots are totally different they still definitely feel distinctly part of the same series.

So season three has started.
I like how it's started so far by not showing its hand right away. Like the first episode has no answers about what happened to Will, Crawford, Abigail, and Dr. Bloom and it's very hazy, much like what Bedelia is going through trying to figure out how she fits in with Hannibal. It's a ballsy move to not reveal characters' fates after a huge cliffhanger and I like it so far that we're kinda going piece-by-piece.
As much as I wanted Abigail to still be alive, I figured she was just a figment of Will's imagination. I just hope this time she's dead for good and remains a part of Will's memory palace because ANOTHER Goddamn return for Abigail would be such ******** at this point. I think Fuller's smarter than that though. From the preview it looks like we'll find out what happened to Crawford (though it's weird as hell that he didn't show up in this episode, you'd think his path would cross with Will at this point no matter where Will's allegiance lies).
Also, the scene with the stag in episode two is probably the most disturbing the show's done so far, which is actually kinda impressive.
I'm just pumped to see this get into the Red Dragon storyline and see how it tackles that.
