Mr. Church reunites the Expendables for what should be an easy paycheck, but when one of their men is murdered on the job, their quest for revenge puts them deep in enemy territory and up against an unexpected threat.

I saw it yesterday, it was way different than I expected. It was like a borderline satirical comedy. It was full of silly one liners, over-the-top bloody violence, the story was simple and cliche, it was self-deprecating and didn't take itself seriously... and I freaking love it.
The best part was how much they "cracked" the fourth wall (as I like to call it), by making so many allusions and jokes about the actors and their careers. For example, an exchange between Arnold and Bruce:
Arnold: I'll be back!
Bruce: You've been back enough. I'll be back!
Arnold: ...Well yippee-ki-yay.
Heck, Chuck Norris even makes a Chuck Norris joke.
I wasn't disappointed at all, I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you're a fan of the actors and 80's action movies.

Well, now! Explosions, gunfire, and ridiculous violence. Even more ridiculous characterisation and dialogue. I started cracking up as soon as Norris came on-screen with a funny little smug grin on his face (to be fair, he had just massacred the legion of bad guys [no, this isn't a spoiler, that's all they do for the entire movie]). Overall, enjoyable for being precisely what I anticipated from it.
Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.

I laughed a lot and enjoyed the absurdity of it all quite a bit. So many people getting shot. Arnie and Willis in a tiny car together was hilarious.
Van Damme both looked and sounded quite a bit like a South African guy I have worked with, which was pretty bizarre to me. Mostly I kept thinking "Why is Jacob being so mean to people?"
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

I love how when they bury their dead friend, Stallone is like "What does this all mean?" And there's a short pause and Statham asks what they're going to do next. Stallone replies instantly, "FIND HIM TRACK HIM KILL HIM"
Okay. So much for something meaningful there.
Love it.
