I've heard the movie is a mess. I'll not judge it as I've not seen it myself.
The old cartoon is not among the things I love. Although, in the interest of fairness, I will admit that I've occasionally named things in video games after Gargamel, so it'd be hard to argue I actively despised it in a 'let it be forever blotted from the table of my memory' sort of way
