CGI Animated film, actually looks like it might take itself semi-seriously. Aside from tripping up on the pitfall of trying to make the female owl look like she's wearing mascara of all things, I am hopeful for this one.

Lord of the Rings connections so far: the narrator's voice is done by Hugo Weaving, main character's name is Soren.

Here's the summary from the trailer's Youtube page:

"Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie's."
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

It also has a game. Saw the ad for it on a DVD copy of "The Shawshank Redemption". It doesn't look to terrible either (what I saw anyway).

Looks... interesting. I may see it, depending on the reviews.
