I figured there'd be alot of people that would've liked Vice City better. It adds more elements to the series: purchasing property; a central, fleshed-out plot and characters; a new selection of vehicles, including a series of bonus vehicles; and more explorable terrain.
Even so, I still like playing GTA III.
I can't wait for Sin City to come out and see what sort of improvements they've made in addition to the ones they introduced in Vice City.
Am I the Only One Who Liked GTA:VC More than GTA III?

^Yeah, that would be an awesome thing, but I don't think we're likely to see that.
Given the choice I would take Vice City, but GTA III was the most original game. That goes without saying. Vice City seems like more of an expansion pack. A very good expansion pack. With more new features than expansion packs would usually allow, but an expansion pack none the less. Of course, the motorbikes are a great feature in the game, as well as everything Fenix already mentioned. I also prefer the missions in Vice City.
I miss the gore cheat too. I remember those riots with armed citizens in GTA III. Pure massacre, that was. Back then, you'd have to be STRONG to survive. You damn young 'uns and yer calm citizens that make themselves easy targets and yer chainsaws and yer calm riots wouldn't understand nothin' about REAL crime. Back in the day we were shot constantly, and we were THANKFUL for it! It was natural selection out on the streets! Those who couldn't cope were wiped out instantly, and that was DAMN good! Just some other weak moron we wouldn't have to deal with. Nowadays your average Joe Schmoe can pick up a 9mm and go on a shooting rampage... It's disgraceful, I tells ya!
I think I've gone a bit off track... Anyway, the new features like the Apache make Vice City better than GTA III in my opinion, but GTA III was still an amazing game because it was so new.

It takes an average of 345 squirts to yield a gallon of milk from a cow's udder.
