I finally saw The Avengers and though I would say I liked it well enough to recommend it, overall the movie was just kind of above average to me. It didn't really seem that much different from your average superhero movie to me, except there were more heroes. There a few moments I really enjoyed (especially "puny god"), and I thought Robert Downey Jr. was great in particular, but overall, once you get beyond the fact that lots of popular superheroes are teaming up, it doesn't really live up to the hype. But like I said, I did enjoy it well enough overall.
