Found myself watching I Love You, Man. Pretty much only because it was right there in front of me at the library and it had Rashida Jones in it. Also, I should really get a girlfriend.

It was actually okay. J.K. Simmons had a small role and that guy is hilarious. He should be in more movies.

Watched the 14th Detective Conan movie.

It. Was. AWESOME. [my enjoyment was probably amplified by the fact that I started it at like 1 am, and everything is more enjoyable late at night, but still]

When the Wind Blows.

Pretty great, pretty poignant. I loved the soundtrack.

Super 8. Easily the best movie that came out this summer. It was engaging, funny, and action-packed. And while I love me some comic book adaptations, it was really nice to see a good summer blockbuster movie with an original plot.

I finally saw Tangled today. It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to the expectations everyone else had given me.

Not a single memorable song from the movie.

The Lost Valentine...

I kept half an eye on it for more than half the movie... then it became (predictably) a tear-jerker in the end (to a faerie...) :p :D
She lives in the clouds and talks to the birds...

Happiest faerie of VGF.

Right now I'm watching the original Resident Evil movie. So far so good.

What was the last film you watched?

I've recently watched the Green Lantern on DVD.

I quite liked it, not the worst superhero film ever, although it isn't one of the best ones.

The 1951 film, The thing from another world. I enjoyed it as a film, the cinematography was good, the effects and sound satisfying for the subject matter and the characters pretty convincing, but I feel somewhat cheated by it seeing as how much of an effort was made for it to be different from it's source material. It's almost as if the guy behind the adaptation didn't know any more about 'who goes there' then 'they find an alien in the ice'.

Alvin and the Chipmunks.

I'd rather not talk about it.

Best cinemagoing experience of my life:

Double billing of Crippled Avengers and Peking Opera Blues.

The former is a fun, campy kung fu flick. The latter is one of my favorite films ever made.

Saw Tintin yesterday. It was pretty great, and the visuals were amazing. For a motion-capture film, it actually seemed to make it to the other side of the uncanny valley.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

Kinda surprised by how much I liked this, but not sure why. Directed by Brad Bird, produced by J.J. Abrams, and it has Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner in it. Just a really good popcorn movie.

Two words: 13 Assassins. Not quite as good as I remember it being the first time I saw it, but still pretty damn good.
