Wall-E

Simply: Brilliant.

I'd personally say it eclipses "Nemo". Beautiful, at times hilarious, touching, poignant, and surprisingly, it's an almost scathing critique of present day society in relation to the treatment of the earth (and the government's role in it), the use of earth's resources, and the treatment of our own bodies
Spoiler.
(in a not-so-subtle jab at America's rising obesity rate).
I'd be willing to say one of the best movies of this year, easily, and has likely cinched the Oscar for best animated film (again, easily).

It's surprisingly fresh, and unbelievably touching. I highly recommend it, not just for kids, but for anyone, really. The subtle commentary is engaging enough to provoke serious thought about ourselves and our society, and its humor is broad enough to entertain everyone. Go forth and watch. :D

^ Sure thing your Royal loveliness, I'll go watch it when I find the time. Though I must say, from what thou described thus far, enlightens my interest. I declare, it does indeed sound fascinating! ;)

The Halo movie could come out and it wouldn't faze me. This is best of 08, hands down.

I have to say, ever since I saw the teaser trailer, I've had no interest in this movie. Even though I generally enjoy Pixar films, this just doesn't look like something I want to see. Nonetheless, it's sure hard to ignore the incredible praise it's been getting. Thing is, I'm in between jobs at the moment, and ever since my local theater raised their ticket prices to $10, I've restricted myself to only seeing movies I know that I will enjoy.

So here's my question: Has anybody who basically felt the way I do about this movie seen it, and what did you think of it?

I was slightly interested, but it wasn't on the top of my list. But I'm glad I saw it.

I thought it was pretty good! My Favorite Part:
Spoiler.
When all the fat lards came rolling and tumbling when the ship tilted. It's just so funny seeing a bunch of fat people rolling.

Wall-E had so much heart. It was poignant and sweet. I have this one my top movies of the year so far. Without much dialogue this movie made so many statements about love, government, earth and persistence. I love this film I highly recommend it to everyone!

RF, I felt pretty much the same way. But the trailers simply don't tell you how amazingly awesome the movie really is. I almost cried. Over fictional robots.

I would be willing to say that this is the best Pixar movie to date. And that's really, really saying something, because Toy Story is still one of my favorite movies ever.

Go see it, RF. You shan't be disappointed.

Wonderful film.

I consider it a sci/fi adventure instead of purely an animated film
