^ I just saw that on DVD and was pleasently suprised at the level of violence and gore.

For a theater movie it was Indiana Jones - my main gripe with this movie was that I don't really care for aliens in my Indiana Jones movies.

In theaters I saw Prince Caspian, despite never having done anything with the Narnia series before.

Right now I'm nearing the end of Rambo III (He has his shirt off!) and plan on picking up Rambo IV sometime. I really wanted to see it in theaters. >_>

At Cinema I watched the happening, though, not sure why on earth I chose that movie. I actually found it quite boring. Only watched half way through, then walked out! Waisted £4.50, well never mind.

I watched Gone Baby Gone this afternoon. I thought it was pretty good...

... and then I watched Magnolia. I am in utter amazement at the brilliance of this film.

There Will Be Blood. Not as great as Magnolia, but still pretty damn great.

I just watched a silent film called "Mr. Wu" a few moments ago. 1927, so Chinese stereotypes abound. Still, it was an entertaining little diversion, and the first time I've sat through a silent film.

Raging Bull. I still prefer Taxi Driver.

I watched My Sassy Girl again last night. I caught a reference to Ashes of Time I didn't catch the first time around. I also love the way this film references silent slapstick comedies. This is truly one of the rare romantic comedies made within the past few decades that reaches the level of greatness it does.

Also, I'm ecstatic that the crappy American remake is going straight to DVD. Elisha Cuthbert is nowhere near a good enough actress to match Jeon Ji-Hyun's original performance as "the girl."

Ninja Dragon, a badly dubbed martial arts movie. Good lord it was indeed terrible! But I found the courage to watch it till the bitter end.

^ Any dubbing that is not from Shaw Bros. automatically sucks. Of course, I prefer subtitles, anyway.

Happy Together.

^ Yeah I actually prefer subtitles over dubbing. But having said that, I guess each method has it's pros and cons. When done professionally, either can be very effective in conveying the intended message and essence of a film!!!

Well anyway:

Godzilla VS. the Smog monster (cheesy Jap B-movie) I personally enjoyed it, though I was seriously SMASHED out me head on scotch whisky at the time.

I personally just love the Shaw Bros. dubbing for it's sentimental value and old-school freakishness.

Ugetsu Monogatari. I'm pretty sure none of you have heard of this movie, but it's one of the greatest of all time.
