I saw the full trailer before Walk Hard last weekend. I have to admit; it's a good trailer. Of course, I have less than zero intention of seeing this movie under any circumstance, but they actually put together a good trailer, and if not for spoof movies getting a bad rap from the house that the Wayanses built, this one might actually do well financially.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I haven't seen any of them, and I have to say that I'm proud of that fact :-) .

The only person who does a good spoof is Mel Brooks

^ His movies aren't spoofs. They're comedic copies.

^ Even I don't make that sort of generic distinction. That's like saying "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon isn't a martial arts film; it's a wuxia."

But after watching the trailer, I definitely see why you would exclude Edgar Wright from "that type of movie."

TERRIBLE movie. The trailer makes fun of the giant persian king that repeatedly says "I'm a kind, a god, and I'm kind." That guy's the man, and thus making fun of him makes this movie suck tremendously. The pit kicking joke = hahanotreally. So yeah this movie's going to hell.

The only reason I'd ever go to see this movie is for Kevin Sorbo, a lot of money, or to fulfill a dying child's wish.

Any dignity spoof movies had were pretty much single handily destroyed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer.

They went from being two, non-Wayans, co-writers of Scary Movie to attempting to parody EVERYTHING.

And I'm betting that most of the subjects were already parodied by SNL and the less funny SNL, MAD TV.

I went to see it today ("That's your own damn fault," I hear many of you saying, and you're absolutely correct). It was occasionally hilarious, infrequently funny, and mostly lousy. Several times (I lost track after ten) they'd take something that might make an amusing throw-away gag and try to stretch it out over several minutes, quickly destroying any comedy value and making babies cry.

I give it half a star--basically, it was a mess.

This movie was beneath Kevin Sorbo.
