Here goes. I'll remind you that I've had limited time to do really thorough reading, and I mainly want to contribute something right now, so if I miss something, I'll get to it tomorrow.
In response to Blake's dossier: I will admit that the time and effort you put into that made it well worth the wait. Your observations are very astute, but at least with regards to me, they're not quite on the money.
To understand the point I will make, you'll probably have to go back and re-read some of my posts (I wouldn't ask anyone to read all of them for the sake of time, but hey, if you're so inclined...). You can certainly interpret my line of reasoning the way Blake did. I will not argue that I haven't been going back and forth with Wyborn (not so much SK) about several issues. But when you read my thoughts, you will see that no matter whether I am conversing with somebody or beginning a line of discussion, I always give my personal opinions on the issue, and I never merely re-state someone else's (Please, don't be anal retentive and find ONE example of the latter point, as it certainly could have happened). You can read them for yourself, I'm confident that that's what you'll find.
So what? For starters, I certainly believe I demonstrate independent thought. I don't simply go along with somebody else's ideas. If I do come to agree with someone else's thinking, my posts invariably show that it is because of my own opinions regarding the whole issue. I am consciously playing this way because I believe that we can only make progress if we all actively contribute to the discussions.
Going back to Blake's interpretation: Yes, you could theorize that, collectively, Wyborn, SK, and I (or whoever you suspect of collusion) are all secretly coming up with what we think about an issue, decide who will make what arguments, and then come in here and act like independent bodies of thought to throw people off. I won't say that you can't think that. But I'll tell you right now that it is definitely less likely, and more importantly, it isn't true. I can't give you evidence from this topic to prove that, but I'll give you some facts:
-I have neither the time nor the energy to be that involved in this game, and I would have a hard time believing that any of you do.
-I am a collegiate rower. If you've ever met one of us, you probably know what I'm going to say. I'm training my kiester off every single day, I'm completely worn out when I get home, and after early morning practices on Saturday, I usually need a five hour nap just to keep myself going. I own a shirt that says "I can't: I have crew!"
-I am also currently preparing for final exams, which I am taking in Intensive Japanese, Music Theory, Physics, and American Economics. I have papers and lab reports to write in the mean time as well.
-If I were mafia, I am not clever enough to take the approach Blake has suggested Wyborn, SK and I have taken.
That's about all I can say in my defense.
Now one more issue:
If Wyborn really doesn't want to play anymore, I can fully understand. This is really taking a lot of time to actively follow. Normally, given Blake's arguments, voting for Wyborn would seem REALLY suspicious of me. But hey, he knows what he wants. So despite this being a potential red flag, I'll go ahead and do it.
Retract vote: Heroine of the Dragon
Vote: Wyborn
Wy, PLEASE don't be mafia. I'm a dead man if you are.
Goodbye for now.
