Jay, the reason YOU didn't like it was because it wasn't direct enough. That's what I said. If you can see past that, it's a beautiful thing.
Douglas, no, some people didn't even know of US 1-3.
You know, Chrono Cross really DID suck.

I'm not bashing your opinion. I'm simply saying that the MAIN reason that CT fans don't like CC is because it isn't made for only them. I don't see how that is insulting at all. But if you can see PAST the fact that it's not a simple Part II (as I can,) you'll see that it's not a horrible sequel.
It all depends on how you look at it. Square took a risk, and the results were varied.

The star system. The best thing about an RPG is the replay value, which usually includes being able to get stronger your second time around as a major factor. This adds diversity to your other rounds. Unfortunately, the star system removes this aspect. Not only are you always at the same strength at everyone point in the game, but so is everyone else in the world. If stars were awarded like EXP, things would be different. But only after bosses?
