Yeah, the commercial was funny, also just because real people were dressed up looking like people from Animal Crossing.

I still don't know what the whole point to that game is, haven't seen much about it save here on VGF, and haven't seen any commercials or nothing about it.

There's not really a point as such (it could be compared to The Sims in some regards) but in the game you play a certian humanish looking character who lives in a city of various animals. You interact with these characters and try to live a nice (or horribly chaotic, if that is your desire) life in which you preferably accumulate plenty of NES games.
