Time for AP Biology to pay off... Kind of.
1. Glass is actually a viscous liquid and not a solid.
I'm guessing false, as any solid substance has a melting point, and glass's is way above room temperature.
2. Chidren have fewer bones in their growing bodies than adults.
False, they have more, it's just that they mend together.
3. A cricket has their ears just below their knees, on their legs..
I'm going out on a limb and saying true.
4. Sound travels slower in water than in air!
False, the wavelength properties allow water to actually be an excellent carrier of sound waves.
5. Every known type of acid will dissolve glass.
Absolute false. After all, fruit juice is slightly acidic and my glass hasn't dissolved.
6. A mosquito actually has teeth!
Tough one. I'm making an educated guess on this. Since mosquitoes are part of the Insect Kingdom, which is not part of the whole Vertabrae phylum (Which is where we see the evolution of the hinged jaw), I may have to say false, but I could be wrong.
7. Diamonds are made solely of carbon.
True, true, and more true. Get me Carbon-60 and you'll have one of the strongest substances ever, with the atoms in the form of a soccer ball!
8. The moon is nearly 45% of the earth's size.
False, it has to be smaller than that.
9. The only letter not appearing in the Periodic Table is the letter "J".
Just like the Gadsby and the E. True.
10. Starfish (sea stars) have three brains to control their arms.
Starfish I know for sure are very basic animals, so I'm guessing false, only because of the whole sessile movement.
