are you kidding me? those are the flaws of sonic adventure 2, sure, although you forget the poor handling on the mechs that eggman and tails use. but lots of the later levels of heroes are more or less floating platforms with rails in between that stretched for miles. the only exception was the haunted castle and that was dull.
Oh, and having to use precise grinding skills for the last stages of Sonic and Shadow was a million times better?

There were PLENTY of planes on the last levels of Sonic Heroes. You just pass by quickly and want to try to prove your point.
SA2, the first Sonic Adventure had too much Chao raising(which took away too much of the stage), and Sonic Heroes is a disappointment in terms of the 3-person team idea derived from Sonic3K due to stupid physics(no true upwards flying with tails and no climbing walls with knuckles)
um, sonic adventure was the first not sonic adventure 2 as your post indicates.
You just pass by quickly and want to try to prove your point.
wait a minute, doing levels quickly is the point of the sonic games.
let's just agree to disagree before I get another topic locked.

I'll say SA2: B. Sonic and Shadow's levels were pretty fun. Eggman and Tails' were okay. Mission Street, collect a hundred rings, is hell.

The emerald levels are... They're... Well, they were more fun in SA. But that's like saying it's more fun to be smacked in a face with a brick, rather than a cement block.

Sonic Heroes makes me want to hurt things. Like myself, for paying fifty dollars for it.

As far as Shadow the Hedgehog? I'm just glad you could switch the voices over to Japanese. Though the English Eggman VA is pretty good. The gameplay felt the same as all Shadow's levels in SA2: B. With a gun. Decent, not innovative.

Regardless, I don't remember all this grinding from Sonic Heroes that you're talking about. I know you do it in almost every level, but what's the big deal? At least I'm not having to look for three stupid emerald shards, one piece at a time, of course. All over a fricken huge course that takes forever for someone to get somewhere.
Two words: Team Chaotix.
And thank God I'm not forced to go around in some bulky machine walker thing, only to slow down the pace to make the game seem longer. The thing about it is, I did'nt mind Gamma's levels in SA, because there was still a sense of speed because you were timed. Tails and Eggman's levels in SA2 take forever. FOREVER to finish.
That one I'll have to agree with.
Oh, and having to use precise grinding skills for the last stages of Sonic and Shadow was a million times better?
Really, you have to elaborate on that better, because not only Sonic Heroes had a crapload of grinding, (which is one of the complaints you had about SA2) it was also much weaker system than SA2, not allowing you to go quickly as you're forced to mash the b button.

The grinding system in Heroes allowed more space to jump into to grind, unlike Adventure 2, where you had to land right on the rail. Basically, Heroes was a lot easier to control.

None of these arguments change the fact that grinding reeks.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Agreed.
The fact of the matter is though, Sonic Heroes made the grinding much easier.

ALL, Sonic games own Da... I mean Deku..

*Runs and hides

Yeah, there was ALOT of grinding in SH, but don't like degrade it for that, I mean like SH brought a fair few new sonic fanboys to the world, and STH did as well.

The key is advertising.. ;)

Peace.

It's true that grinding was easier in Sonic Heroes, but it was more of a chore compared to SA2, since it was so slow yet have so much of it. Bullet Station was a prime example of it's slowness when you compare it to Final Rush.

I dunno, I never had problems with grinding in SA2, period. I guess it's because I'm a pro when it comes to Sonic Adventure.

Sonic in 3D

I'm not a fan of the 3D Sonic games. But out of them all, Sonic Adventure is the best, IMO.

Sonic Adventure 2.

1 was okay from what I played, but a bit on the easy side. Also irritating gameplay from Big.

Heroes was truly mediocre. It's only saving grace was the final battle with Metal Sonic, perhaps one of the best final battles in all of Sonic gaming.

People hate Shadow ONLY because it's a sell-out, and not because of the same problems seen in Heroes. Wow guys, thanks for ignoring the gameplay and the better story. Why people like Heroes above Shadow makes me weep.

Adventure 2 was the best thrill ride. Even Knuckles and Rogue aren't really that bad. Eggman and Tails are a bit sluggish for my tastes. And aside from lack of town stages, I enjoyed much of what SA2 had to offer.

I'd have't to go with the first, I just loved the added Epic Feel to it, it reminds me of how Super Mario RPG made me fall in love with Video Games.

Eh.... Nah. If I got lost then no one would want to update on the current games.

The only game that can compare to SA2 is SA1, Sonic Heroes sucks, period.

SA2 > SA1 > Shth > SH.

Sonic Heroes sucked because it took the series backwards in playability. So far to make Sonic Adventure better than it was.

If you want old school, play Sonic Rush. It pretty much beats the tar out of Sonic Heroes and even can stand up to its bigger console brethren.
Super Smash Quest: Fighting evil since 2002.
