Re: Theme Songs!
So this isn't a TV theme song-----------it isn't even a theme song at all, technically, because it isn't the theme to the movie. But c'mon, is it not Good Enough for this topic? I allege that it literally is Good Enough.
They made this music video as both a preview for 'Goonies' and also for the first Wrestlemania, which is a weird taste combo, but it explains why you got Capn Lou, Rowdy Roddy, Classy Freddie Blassie, the Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkov the Bolshevik and Andre in there. It's friggin weird, but the music's good (they wound up basing the music for the NES Goonies games on it), so that's fun.

Re: Theme Songs!
I really love "Blood Gulch Blues". 'Red vs Blue' wasn't always great, but "Blood Gulch Blues" has always been rad.
Spoiler.

Re: Theme Songs!
The first season solo is ok. The season 6-7 cover is truly awful. But from seasons 2-5, this duet made me show that smile again:
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Re: Theme Songs!
So I've had this in my recommendations at YT for a few days----------I guess it's the original Japanese opening? It's pretty good, too.
Spoiler.
[EDIT: You know, I know next to nothing about the actual Oz books, but I will say, I appreciate that they gave Dorothy silver shoes instead of ruby slippers in the anime. I know they changed the silver shoes to ruby slippers for the Judy Garland flick, just because they wanted to wow 'em with Technicolour.]boo--------------a real american weirdo

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. It's technically from a teevee show, and it's technically a theme song.boo--------------a real american weirdo

Re: Theme Songs!
^Has anyone seen that recent Rescue Rangers movie? I asked the kids about it when I was in Dakota. The older kids said they'd watched maybe half of it----------------they didn't really get it, which makes sense, inasmuch as they were born like twenty years too late for the Disney Afternoon.

Ooh! Ooh ooh I've got a good 'un!
Spoiler.
Man, I love 'Gravity Falls'. It's like JDatE for kids, or Baby's First Lovecraft. But most importantly for this topic, it's a great spooky theme song. Right up there with 'Twilight Zone' or 'Unsolved Mysteries'.boo--------------a real american weirdo

Re: Theme Songs!
So this isn't a theme song-------------it's a short educational video essay by Dr. Geoff Lindsey (one of my favourite YouTubers) all about instrumental theme songs with hidden lyrics. It's kind of mind-blowing.
Spoiler.
So because that wasn't a theme song, here's a video of the 'Doctor Who' theme playing over Photoshopped images of various Doctors throwing crabs at the camera.
Spoiler.

Re: Theme Songs!
You know, it never occurred to me as a child, but, like, why are the dumb kids using grapnels to climb the Statue of Liberty in the 2nd Carmen Sandiego opening? There's stairs inside, for cliff's sake. They're not on belay---------what if they lose their grip and fall and die? I think that Carmen would be horrified. 'No. No! I just wanted to steal the Hope Diamond and the Crown Jewels and that scary ritual mask that made Boo cry as a kid----------I didn't want this!' And then she weeps with noble sorrow, and Rockapella shows up to sing a slowed-down minor-key version of the song.
(EDIT: I hope they'd emphasise the gravitas of the situation by putting in a huge cartoony '*SHPLOOOAACKKK*' noise as the kid's body hit the ground. Or maybe a giant fart sound. Dignity, always dignity.)
(EDIT2:...that third Carmen Sandiego theme is a little too sombre for such a silly franchise. I mean, it's not awful, but...after the Rockapella one and the joyous second one, this new one sounds like 'Gruppa Krovi' or Guts' Theme or something. One of these things is not like the others.)

Re: Theme Songs!
Speaking of theme songs with hidden meanings:
For clarity: the "Devil's Interval"
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Re: Theme Songs!
Hey, so is it cheating to put the 'Batman TAS' opening here? Like, it's just a riff on the 1989 movie theme, but like so what, it's great.
Aww, man, wouldn't it be great if henchmen locked up in Blackgate were, like, comparing experiences, and they realised a lot of them got captured because they had some kind of boomerang-like object knock their gun away, and so it led to just a whole bunch of ex-cons tracking Captain Boomerang down and beating the crap out of him all the time upon release? Man, talk about unintended benefits.
[EDIT: What's this? An earlier theme devoted to a dynamic duo of caped crusaders engaged in fearless fantastical feats of dangerous derring-do?!?

Spoiler.
I love Second Guy. Batman disarms them both easily, pounces First Guy and takes him down instantly, and then Second Guy's all, 'whatevs, I ate my Wheaties this morning! eat fist, you big jerkhead!' "Cowardly and superstitious lot" my backside. You're teaching them to fear the Bat less than Blackgate, Bruce. Institutional reform is what's called for. Hear that? It's the voice of Ra's al Ghul's opposite-of-evil twin, Ra's al Mandela.Aww, man, wouldn't it be great if henchmen locked up in Blackgate were, like, comparing experiences, and they realised a lot of them got captured because they had some kind of boomerang-like object knock their gun away, and so it led to just a whole bunch of ex-cons tracking Captain Boomerang down and beating the crap out of him all the time upon release?
