I never considered it before, and I was ready to dismiss any criticism of his actions as silly, but now I'm wondering if the question isn't more interesting if Kevin understands the option of being safely elsewhere and getting an insurance payout. Could be argued that potentially fatal deterrents aren't justified in that case. But they are repeat offenders, and any one of their next jobs could end badly for the victims.

As it turns out, there's only a couple things in Die Hard that would actually kill McClane (at least the first one; the sequels are another story). On the other hand, Harry & Marv would be dying CONSTANTLY in the Home Alone films.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^I assume we're speaking purely in concrete terms. Like, actual injuries sustained by John McClane, not theoretical danger like 'shot a whole bunch by armed lunatics' or 'blowed up with C4' or 'shot a whole bunch by FBI morons' or 'falling off the building' or 'eaten alive by Aleksandr Godunov'.
Any time the Wet Bandits wanted to, they could have limped off to their van full of loot and run for the hills. They chose the form of their destructor--------a smart ten-year-old with a death house (occasionally in conjunction with a shovel-wielding old man, a scary-but-harmless oogedy-boogedy spider, and a weird lady who must constantly smell like bird crap). They deserved everything they got, man.

Re: OLD MAN YELLS AT CLOUD: where we complain about popular things in media we don't like to feel better about ourselves
So I have the night off, I've got HBOMax, and I thought to myself, 'hey, why not check out "Velma"? I love Velma-----------surely it can't be as bad as they're saying'.
I lasted seven whole minutes before I had to quit. This show is painful to watch. It's deplorable---------------I don't know how these butt-holes got the Scooby-Doo license, and, you know, I don't care all that much about the Scooby-Doo license, but I'll tell you one thing for true------------I should like Velma. She's one of my favrit grrls-----------right up there with Jubilee, Applejack, Sailor Moon and Agatha Heterodyne. And so here this flippin show comes along, and it seems custom-built to make me despise Velma with every fibre of my being. It's friggin excruciating, man. I hate it.

^I have heard *NOTHING* good about Velma except one person who liked how Shaggy was written.

Re: OLD MAN YELLS AT CLOUD: where we complain about popular things in media we don't like to feel better about ourselves
...like, I could almost make a case for it, if it were actually funny. Like, as deplorable as 'Rick and Morty' sometimes was, you'd be laughing yourself to tears, so like who the heck cares. This sh*t could gag maggots, man. There's literally nothing acceptible here. I can't even imagine a person who would enjoy this.
[EDIT: I dipped back in, because I hate myself. Watched the first episode start to finish. It still sucks a whole real lot.
[EDIT2: You know, I don't care all that much about 'Scooby-Doo', but, like, the most appealing thing about the show is the characters--------------they're likeable. They're a real good bunch. Velma's fun, Shaggy's fun. Daphne and Freddy and Scooby are all fun. They're pals and they solve mysteries together. So this show decides its clever gimmick is to make the characters awful and hate each other, and surprise surprise! people hate it.

As a general rule, avoid reboots and modern spins on classics. It seems to often be some subversive, cynical disgrace that craps on the spirit of the original. Scooby Doo will remain a good-natured, goofy old cartoon in my unsullied memories.

^Apparently some of the other recent Scooby projects have been quite good: Mystery Incorporated, Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo, et cet.

'Mystery Inc' is a great goldang show. It's a little cynical----------------like if 'Scooby-Doo' got remade by the 'Venture Bros' gang.

It's good. It's friggin weird. Like, they spend the whole first season in this crazy town, deep-dive investigating, and then a couple years pass betwixt the first and second season, and Freddy becomes a beatnik, Daphne and Velma complete their education, Shaggy joins the army...it's a wild ride, man.

Re: OLD MAN YELLS AT CLOUD: where we complain about popular things in media we don't like to feel better about ourselves
Original Scooby-Doo > Mike Tyson Mysteries > Whats New Scooby doo > Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated > Velma
It is like they on purposely made the cartoon/animation terrible.
1. Velma is ( African Decent ). Do not get me wrong between an APB, Police-line-up, she is "black". Like new Spider-Man is "African Decent"
2. They bash all the guys in the worst way. Fred is no longer buff, or actually useful in anyway at all, and Shaggy is an extra from "Clone High"
3. [removed]
Nothing gets done. Nothing is logical. No real point is being made at all. Even "A Pup named Scooby-Doo" is more fun to watch then this.
........
Do not bring up "Rick and Morty" because "Rick and Morty" is in it's own class. Vlema is just everything garbage.
........
This entire series is like somebody who watches too much television. It so terrible, or a person who looks at the news too often.

I don't want to have to defend this bad show, but Indian descent is not African descent.

And technically Miles Morales isn't the new Spider-Man, he's a different one, although it seems they're angling for him to take the spotlight as the main one.
A Pup Named Scooby Doo, I almost forgot about that. Not bad, but I remember it less.

I assumed you meant Sarah Silverman, but I didn't see her listed on the Wikipedia page (or any Silverman for that matter). Half the time I really don't know what you're talking about to be honest lol
I did notice Velma is apparently one of the worst rated entries on Rotten Tomatoes though. That's pretty impressively bad. I almost want to watch an episode of it out of morbid curiosity. Almost.

Re: OLD MAN YELLS AT CLOUD: where we complain about popular things in media we don't like to feel better about ourselves
^You are correct; Silverman has literally nothing to do with this show. The star is Mindy Kaling. And yeah, nearly nobody seems to like it; we don't have to worry about them making more (unless so many people hate-watched it that it got good ratings anyway).

If you do I suggest, actually just getting copies of it, and skipping ahead with your head turn. In fact you do not even have to look at the animation to watch it. All you need to do is watch [removed]. That pretty much sums up Velma. It is like nobody can have anything "normal" without [removed]. I feel bad for children of todays world.I REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 2:13 pmI assumed you meant Sarah Silverman, but I didn't see her listed on the Wikipedia page (or any Silverman for that matter). You see what I mean. [removed] is the only reason she has any ground to stand on.
[removed]
The entire "Scooby doo gang" is one big out-dated joke in this "Velma" and it is because of her
Mindy Kaling career is garbage. She wants the attention then she got it. [removed]
They will not STFU in this entire series. It is like I am browsing through instagram or whatever.
Videos, photos, bs poems. Why bother.
They the writers and etc. Literally took Scooby Doo and turned into one big dog doo to the world. It hurts so much it makes me want to look at all the series again. Again terrible on so many levels.
It is like asking "Where is American/Western Animation" oh there we go, we got this Calarts bs again. As with "Stephen Universe". No ground.

...Velma is not African-American in the stupid new show. She's Hindustani-American. How are you not comprehending this?
Are you being deliberately obtuse? If so, knock it the hell off. You're making yourself and the rest of us look bad. So stop.
And really, what in God's holy name are you blathering about? Are you high? You sound like a mentalcase, or a self-endangering stupid.
