Re: 111 Movies for 2022
Lots of seasonal movies just happened.
85) The Adam Project - A-. Real emotion, real excitement, real fun.
86) Black Adam - C+. A lot of very good parts & a lot of very bad parts. I wouldn't buy it, but I'd watch it again on TV.
87) Shang-Chi & the Legend of the Ten Rings - A-
88) Ghostbusters - A
89) Ghostbusters II - A-
90) Zombieland - B+
91) Zombieland: Double Tap - B-. Underwhelming compared to the first one.
92) Halloweentown - B+
93) Hocus Pocus - B+
94) Hocus Pocus 2 - C-. THE MOVIE ENDS WITH THE PROTAGONIST CLAIMING THE DEVIL BOOK. WHO APPROVED THIS!?
95) Werewolf By Night - A-. I actually wish it had been a little longer.
96) The Spirit of Christmas - C-
97) Free Guy - A
98) Weird: The Al Yankovic Story - A. Utter comedic brilliance from all involved.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^Hey, I'm glad to hear 'Weird' was so good. I'll not lie, I wasn't entirely sure the trailer was real.

Re: 111 Movies for 2022
^^The trailer from 9 years ago with Aaron Paul was fake, but the trailers with Daniel Radcliffe are real.
^Docudrama, but actually a parody. It's closer to Walk Hard than to anything else.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

'Rifftrax: Final Justice'
...as many ridiculously stupid movies as there are, you'd think the Rifftrax gang would maybe not bother with movies they'd already done back in the MST3K days, but whatevs---------some movies just can't get murdalized enough.
You know, I never thought 'Mitchell' was all that bad, and by comparison 'Final Justice' makes 'Mitchell' look like a flippin masterpiece.

Re: 111 Movies for 2022
99) A Boy Called Christmas - B-
100) Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - A. Genuinely mature storytelling with deep explorations of grief, revenge, diplomacy, & more.
101) Spirited - B+. Fun & creative spin on the Dickens formula; I just wish I could get it on disc instead of it becoming an Apple exclusive after just 1 week in theaters.
102) Falling for Christmas - D. What tripe. Badly written, badly shot, badly directed. Cast was decent.

Re: 111 Movies for 2022
'Rifftrax: Father Frost'
It was always pretty easy to tell when the MST3K guys were mostly suffering through a movie, versus when they were laughing themselves silly over it. 'Jack Frost' was definitely in the latter camp, and it's always been one of my favourite episodes. It's so beautifully shot and goofy and charmingly insane. I mean, I respect the MST3K gang for making it possible to watch 'Manos' and 'Pod People', but I generally preferred the likes of 'Jack Frost' and 'Space Mutiny'.
Anyway, the new riff is loads of fun. They restored all the bits of the movie cut out of the old MST3K episode, and it really is a lovely, colourful, imaginative movie, and the Rifftrax guys tear into it, but in a loving fashion. Like, in 'Final Justice', you could tell they despised the movie (and especially Sheriff Geronimo), but here they were clearly having fun.
...I wish there were a way Rifftrax could incorporate host segments. It's the only thing current-era MST3K has over them----------the ability to throw on the brakes and shake things up for a minute. Add in their own creativity with skits and songs and all. Even Film Crew had host segments. I know that, given the nature of Rifftrax, the mechanics involved, this is somewhere between 'logistical nightmare' and 'actually impossible, and stupid', but still.

Re: 111 Movies for 2022
It's the most thematically-consistent time of the year.
103) The Muppet Christmas Carol - A
104) Violent Night - B. Very gory, but refreshingly NOT cynical.
105) Die Hard - A
106) Elf - A-
107) It's a Wonderful Life - A-
108) The Man Who Invented Christmas - B+
109) Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - C+
110) Santa Claus Is Coming to Town - C-
111) The Santa Clause - B
112) Christmas With You - C-. Man falls in love with famous singer who falls in love with small town.
113) A Very Country Christmas - D+. Woman falls in love with famous singer who falls in love with small town.
114) Holly & the Hot Chocolate - D. Man falls in love with businesswoman who falls in love with small town, also it's a QVC ad.
115) Arthur Christmas - A-
116) The Polar Express - C+
117) A Christmas Prince - D+
118) Klaus - A
119) Miracle on 34th Street (1994) - C
120) Iron Man 3 - B+
121) The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special - B+. Charming & sincere & ridiculous.
122) Best in Snow - C. Tituss tried his hardest, but there was so much stupid padding in this competition.
123) 'Twas the Night - B-. Biggest issue is bad acting (except for Bryan Cranston, who pours everything into it).
The 111 again:
