Ohhh yes. I haven't carried a knife regularly since I quit the store, but I used to sharpen my knives after every shift. Whetstone for my old BSA knives--------files for the fastbacks.

I know how, but I don't do it, because it's tedious & I've never had the kind of knife that needs it.

i've had a beautiful set of Henckles for like 10 years. Occasionally ill hone the edge but as for sharpening, I've never needed too. If you buy quality then you rarely need to go as far as this. Been thinking about getting another knife though maybe a Miyabi. Sometimes you just want something that feels good in your hand.
