The whole culture around who is "expected" to get in is making the reveals not that fun. Banjo and Kazooie would have been exciting if it weren't for half the American internet throwing a **** bitch fit over every single other reveal that wasn't Banjo and Kazooie. Remember how Hero and Banjo got announced IN THE SAME DIRECT but Hero got announced first and thousands of babies on twitter started screaming about "waahh another sword boy WHERES BANJO"? i remember.

Joker would've also been more hype if it didn't just feel like a sales pitch for P5R lol but that's kind of how it goes now. Anyway I'm also just lukewarm on this game since its 1p sucks but the culture around DLC fighters doesn't help. It's pretty likely Lloyd is in down the road (from comments by his eng VA as well as new registered trademarks and icons) but I almost don't want him to be because everyone will just argue over whether or not he "deserves it" lol

i find Byleth to be disappointing but not surprising, but also i'm kinda glad they confirmed that more Nintendo reps are possible. i'm hoping they considered Rex to be a fighter in the new pass despite him already being a Mii outfit

I'd prefer Mòrag myself. Stance fighter alternating between Brigid, Aegeon, and Finch. All three tank weapon types that're tied to Mòrag (except Finch, but Finch raises agility so she's generally given to Mòrag). Brigid's sort of the allround type that is quick, Aegeon is for hit-and-runs and methodical strikes but also can block attacks, and Finch is the defensive and strong but slow weapon, and can send gusts of wind like a golf ball.

And for her final smash, Mòrag points out and says "Get 'em, boys!"
...and a bunch of Mor Ardainian soldiers flood the stage and cherry tap everyone, shouting "THINK YOU CAN TAKE ME?" "THINK YOU CAN TAKE ME?" "DON'T FERGET ME!" "You're done!" "You're done!" "THINK YOU CAN TAKE ME?" over each other. The auditory flood also helps disrupt players sense so it's hard to tell where all the other attacks are coming from. :P

I hope every new character is a sword-wielder from Fire Emblem. Petra, Lyn, Lon-qu, Felix, and let's say Anna for good measure. Tharja is one of my favorite characters, but since she doesn't wield a sword, I guess she's out.

I mean, as much as I would love to see Shantae, Dixie Kong, Madeline, Sparkster, Li Xiangfei, Lana, Felicia, Mike Jones, Kunio, Misako & Kyoko, the Battletoads, Crono, horrible goose, or Chun-Li in Smash, I would also love to watch the fans meltdown while Sakurai cackles with a mischievous smile on his face, swirling wine around in a crystal goblet.

He could also just add Bubsy.

What I would love to see happen:

Sakurai walks up, "I will actually present all of the characters for the next Smash Bros DLC at once!"

Wonder Blue, Dante, Sora, Rillaboom, Waluigi, and 2B appear on the screen behind him.

"And I have decided to listen to the fandom... You requested no more pale-faced anime martial users or swordsmen. So..."

He gives a clap-clap and then Sora, Dante, and 2B vanish from the screen.

"You also requested concerns about one franchise being too overrepresented. There are currently a lot of Mario and Pokémon characters, so..."

Clap clap. Rillaboom and Waluigi disappear.

"And you requested more non-Nintendo characters. So."

Clap clap. Wonder Blue vanishes.

"Getting permission from third-parties isn't easy as everyone seems to think it is. Some companies weren't interested, others wanted a share of profits or something. But there was one company who was more than willing to talk with us. So without further ado, please welcome our new six fighters from..."

Crash Bandicoot, Tracer, Hanzo, Wolf, Symmetra, and Spyro appear.

I think Spyro and Crash are way better than Wonder Blue and Rillaboom. Those other things are definitely worse though, probably, whatever they are.
