The Sonic movie makes me think of Space Jam on Sega just because it was the same console and Space Jam was the live action movie 20 years ago.

Kind of makes you wonder how successful they were doing basic cartoon animation while this might crash and burn.

This is not as bad as I was expecting but also kind of slightly terrifying. It hits the exact same point of “incredibly and deeply uncomfortable” as Detective Pikachu honestly

People improved it on Twitter with minor tweaks. Simply making him the appropriate color and fixing the eyes (just adding white between them) made a big difference. Even Yuji Naka isn't a fan.

Marketing is weird with this movie. Why lead with the uncomfortable character model and nothing else for months. Detective Pikachu had the good sense to leverage the goodwill of Ryan Reynolds.

I would really like to see an ACTUAL TRAILER of this movie?? idfk what the marketing team is on, given that they've gotten nothing but backlash from leaking the character design and the best way to DEFEND that design would be to show it in... actual action
