That explains the sudden resurgence of Star Wars fanart on all of my social media feeds.
I believe in second chances, and that's why I believe in you.

They only returned two episodes ago, and they're already leaving again? Make up your mind, Jedi.

Disney said they'd try to do 1 a year for a while, including episodes 7-9 & some spinoffs. They did Episode 7 & the spinoff Rogue One. This is Episode 8.
Also forthcoming: Yet-untitled young Han Solo spinoff (2018 ), Episode 9 (2019), & at least one more spinoff (2020).

This is just a hype trailer. There's nothing here we didn't already know would happen (Luke trains Rey, everyone else who didn't die is still here), except for Luke's obviously-edited line at the end.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Thinking the "let the past die" and "this is not going to go the way you think" lines may be directed at audiences.

Disney's gonna "try" to do it, lol. They probably have no problem mass-producing these things considering the financial gain.

Can't wait for Episode X in 2021.

Trailer looks very promising. I'm just hoping that the movie manages to get a good darker middle-chapter feel without mimicking Empire as much as Force Awakens mimicked New Hope.

So on top of this, Episode IX, and Solo, we're also getting another movie trilogy as well as a live-action TV series.

Burnt out yet?

Yeah heard about that. Idk. I dunno how to feel yet. It's so far in the future already that we have no idea what they could possibly be about.

I'm not hyped for Solo, hyped for TLJ, intrigued by the new trilogy, and just hearing about the show.

I was excited about this current "new" trilogy, because the whole story was already intended to be a 9-parter anyway. I guess a new show makes for another "trilogy" of sorts there (following Clone Wars and Rebels). The Solo film combines with Rogue One and the upcoming Obi-Wan movie to make a trilogy. And now there's this new Rian Johnson trilogy.

Star Wars now literally has an extra trilogy of trilogies beyond the originally-planned trilogy of trilogies.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

The Han Solo Trilogy by A.C. Crispin had the first grown-up books I ever read. I'll forever be fond of them. But I doubt they will influence the Han Solo origin movie in any way. Really highly doubt. But a tiny part of me is still hoping one of the books has some influence.

I kind of figured that they are going to basically make a whole new "prequel trilogy" in the form of Rogue One, Han Solo and Obi-Wan. Instead of erasing the prequels they're just going to nudge them aside like "Heeeeyyy so you can watch THESE instead. . ."

Place your bets on who's going to die in this one. I say it'll be Luke and Leia.

I've got $10 on at least one Stormtrooper. They said I was crazy, but I'm really feeling this one.
