I don't mind a Mummy remake (technically this is a re-remake since it's remaking the original 1932 Mummy movie) but I'm tired of seeing Tom Cruise popping up everywhere playing the same generic action hero.
I am excited about hearing that they're redoing all the Universal monster movies and creating a shared universe a la Marvel.

Wasn't 'The Mummy' (Brendan Fraser version) already a pretty good movie?
If they have to remake a monster movie, why not choose something that sucked to start with? Why not redeem 'Dracula' or 'Frankenstein', or maybe take a stab at a not-horrible 'Van Helsing' flick?
Like, there've been okay modern worwilf movies (Benicio Del Toro 'Wolfman' was acceptible, and I can't think I'm the only person liked that Jack Nicholson flick 'Wolf')----------there ain't no reason they can't make a good new movie about draculas and frankensteins. Clearly all that's lacking is the will to not suck ass.

Here's a look at what a trailer sounds like before editing is properly finished.
