Cartoon Pilots
This thread has nothing to do with airplanes. No, a pilot is a standalone episode produced to sell a potential TV series to a network. Some pilots eventually spawn a series, others never make it that far. Whatever the outcome may have been, what are some of your favorite animated pilots?
I watched the pilot for Adventure Time before ever seeing an episode of the actual show. It's pretty similar in tone to the first season, though the animation is a bit different and everyone but Jake has a different voice.

I got a DVD of them used from the electronics swap shop. It has 'Korgoth of Barbaria' on it. And then a bunch of crap. I've watched 'Korgoth' loads, and the others once each, because they aren't good.
Pilots can be neat. Sometimes they toss them on the DVD as a bonus--------I know the 'Venture Bros' pilot is on the first season boxset. Likewise the 'Rick and Morty' pilot got on the R&M boxset. And they included the pilot for 'Steven Universe' on the Gem Glow DVD. (Given to understand Pendleton Ward really wants to put the 'Adventure Time' pilot on a DVD release, but he can't, because Nickelodeon has the rights to it. Pretty weak.) (...man. Nickelodeon passed over 'Adventure Time', but made 'Breadwinners' a series. Effing 'Breadwinners'. What madness drives these people.)
It'd be cool to see that unreleased 'Gravity Falls' pilot. Some footage has been leaked online, and, you know, it has some cool animation. It can be neat to see what might have been.

Watched the 'Constant Payne' pilot couple days back. I really liked it------could've been a great series.
...boy, but it can be really interesting, seeing how things change between pilot and show proper. Like, in SU, the art style became slightly more stylised, less detailed. 'Venture Bros', the animation itself changed from Flash-based to traditional. 'Bee and Puppycat' is largely the same, only they plumped up the titular characters--------Bee was positively waifish in the pilot, compared to her current show/comics model. 'Gravity Falls', the animation is...I don't know, less cartoony, maybe? I'm not sure how to describe it.
