Bomby: isn't it great to be asking legitimately plot-related questions about a Star Wars movie again, though? The prequels never gave us this satisfaction.

I saw it for the second time today.
- Han never knew how strong Chewie's crossbow was until he tried shooting with it. And tried it again later. Funny stuff.
- In Rey's vision someone with a deep voice (Kylo Ren/Snoke?) was speaking when someone put a hand on her shoulder when she was a kid and screaming to the people who left her. Might not mean anything...
- How did C-3PO get his red arm? It has been fixed at the end. You can see him waving to Rey with his gold arm.

^
I saw it again yesterday and was wondering the same thing about the voice. I thought it just sounded like Unkar Plutt from the junkyard.

And for the last question, I assume it just got fixed after they returned to the base.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes
Do we ever actually see where Luke's hand and lightsaber end up after being chopped off? The lightsaber could've ended up somewhere safe in Cloud City.
^
That's actually one of the things I wondered about - you would think that Luke would've mentioned the whole "Hey you might be leaning towards the Dark side but FYI, Vader came around in the end and I convinced him so dont be whiny" thing but I hope we get more of an explanation to that in the next chapter.
YOU TAKE YOUR QUESTIONS AND SHOVE THEM IN YOUR SOMETHING.

Though that said, it stands to reason that the prequels never gave this sense of satisfaction because we already kind of knew the destination.

Is it weird that I'm kind of trying to avoid seeing 'The Force Unleashed'?

I didn't realise I was until last night. Like, I planned to see it with my sister, and we were trying to figure out a good night to see it, what with my schedule and all, and she jokingly asked if I even wanted to go, and I realised maybe I sort of don't?

Like, I'm not afraid of prequel-style disappointment, here. I can brush the prequels off like the dandruff they are. What bothers me is the thought of 'Star Trek Into Darkness'-style disappointment, where the movie is alright, you know, pretty well-executed and non-threatening, not horrible, and I never bother buying a copy or ever seeing it more than once, or thinking about it after I leave the theatre.

^Star Trek and Star Wars have always been tonally different, though. I don't think you need to have that fear. I'd recommend going to see it.

I had the same fear, Star Trek was a good flick, but it wasn't memorable. But not to worry, while a lot of the movie is derivative of the old trilogy, it's still fun and you leave wanting to see it again, or at least wanting to see what happens next. They did a great job with the characters.

Has anyone thought about
Lando returning in episode 8 since Han Solo is dead now? After seeing Force Awakens a second time yesterday, it suddenly hit me, AND I also remembered my dream from about a year ago or so when Force Awakens was first announced. I dreamed that I was in the theater about to watch the new Star Wars movie and everyone was excited. We saw the Millennium Falcon land on a desert planet (assumed to be Tatooine) and everyone naturally thought that Han was going to step out with Chewie. Instead, Lando walked out with a Twi'lek girl on either side and he was grinning all like, "I'm back baby!" I realized yesterday, "Oh ****, what if I dreamed about EPISODE 8 INSTEAD?"

I mean, there HAS to be Lando. . .if they don't bring back Lando at all and act like he just never happened that would be criminal. Han Solo's death has to reel in Lando somehow, because after all the Falcon was originally his.

^
I would love to see Lando back. Although he didn't appear in VII, there is still hope: http://www.blastr.com/2015-2-11/billy-d ... -after-all
Forgot to mention I got Kenny Baker's autograph:

He was really friendly but didn't talk that much to the fans.

I could've met Carrie Fisher. She was at the same convention last year.

Speaking about autographs, Mark Hamill is trying to "save" fans by telling them if he really signed the merch or if it's a fake autograph:

I'm not worried SW is gonna turn into Star Trek; I'm worried the new films are going to be merely competent. Like, Abrams' first Trek flick had its flaws, but I felt things. Opening sequence made me tear up even on second viewing. Second Trek flick I barely remember. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either, and that's what concerns me.

I want a really good Star Wars film, and I'm not sure it's in the cards at this point. Like, it doesn't even have to be perfect---------I mean, if I can get a few sublime, resonant moments. Like Luke watching the sunset in ANH, or Han telling Chewie to save his strength right before he gets frozen in ESB, or that whole Vader unmasked sequence in RotJ--------I've been hungering for this since I was a stupid little kid. I don't want to walk out of another SW flick sighing.

^You won't. There are a few of those moments.
That said, you might wanna wait until home video to see this, just to avoid the idiots in the theater applauding every time an old character appears like Kramer just walked into the room on a later-season episode of Seinfeld.

Finally saw it, by the way.
I didn't realize Kylo Ren was being played by 2001-era Josh Groban.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
