Man. You know...'Auto Erotic Assimilation'. The end was really good, but rough. Like, we've never seen Rick in that state before. He deserved what he got, but still------he looked really busted up, especially that bit in the garage.

(EDIT: I mean, that sequence. Like, the expressions Rick had, actually showing sweet affection to a living thing (before killing it), looking more and more unhappy with each moment. This isn't the callous doesn't-give-a-sh*t Rick we've come expect. He's thinking about it, and this is a character for whom 'don't think about it' is practically a motto. (EDIT: ...maybe that's why it's his motto. Thinking about things really f*ckin hurts, sometimes.)

It was disconcerting. It wasn't nice. I like Rick, for all that he's quite clearly not a good person, and seein him just break down...man. It was not fun.

Seen 'em all. First episode was the biggest surprise and the best but they're overall awesome and just keep getting better.

I've enjoyed having Admiral Anderson do voices for two episodes in a row.

This show is currently blowing my mind. In 5 years' time it will be a stone cold classic, and I'm saying that just based on the 1 and a half seasons that have been released so far. It's already shot up my all time favourite TV list to somewhere near the top.

^ Liked for the accidental cool smilie. Seems somehow appropriate.

As for the episode, really funny but..
I kinda hoped last week had put a pin in the Beth/Jerry stuff for this season, it was a big moment for them. If this had come before that one I wouldn't have had a problem. #justNitpickyThings

The Werner Hertzog monologue about humans love of penis though, 10/10

^
i was disappointed that there were shades of the Beth/Jerry stuff lingering around too, but the hard part about that for the writers is that they're still leaning on narrative crutches and that's basically all they have to work with between those two for right now. i want them to expand a bit on the characters and give us more reasons to be compelled by their B plots, but they often remove Summer from their presence and put her with Rick and Morty, so they wind up going back to the marital strife. Summer has also been weirdly inconsistent throughout her run, like when she blindly started following a cult for no reason when she's been shown to be very... not that throughout most of the show. but i digress. hopefully we'll see significantly less of the marriage trouble stuff for a good while, especially since it was the A plot last week.

agreed on the surprise Herzog appearance, though. **** killed me. it gave me new, non-Grizzly Man quotes to use in working on my impression of him as well. XD

It seems Dan Harmon might have problems with his characters in that regard. He's really good at making immediately memorable characters and doing good things with them, but a lot of the times they go back to default after moments that should have developed them a bit. Community had that problem at points too. Really my only gripe with his otherwise brilliant work.
Just started watching this (got 5 episodes in and might watch 1 more before I turn in).

I really liked episode 5 as well. It marked the point in a comedy series where it finds a time and place to take itself seriously as well, and pulls it off because I'm invested. I'm really into this series.

((Also, I appreciated how in the same episode that Rick makes an off-handed rape joke, the subject is actually addressed pretty seriously shortly after and Rick is uncharacteristically supportive and explodes the **** out of the monster guy. #Rekt.))

guys... that finale tho. that's one of the best payoffs i've seen in a season finale in a LONG time. without spoiling anything, i have to commend the writers for adding layers and layers of depth to one single episode, and paying us off on a lot of things they set in motion. and of course, all of the gags landed hard and made for not only one of the most intense episodes of the series, but also one of the most hilarious. A+, and i can't wait for more.

oh, and i said no spoilers, buuuut....

YOOOO WHAT THE **** WAS THAT FINALE BRO HOLY ****

I don't have words yet. Only shock. Damn

E: wait I have words now. All else aside the beginning of Rick's speech was one of the most hilarious parts in the entire series IMO that was so good
