Rick and Morty

Anybody see this hilarious show? There's only 11 episodes but a second season is confirmed. It's right up there with South Park and Family Guy humor but feels more like Aqua Teen Hunger Force or Sealab 2021.

My favorite episode is #5, "Meseeks and Destroy." Mr. Meseek is the greatest. Episode #6, "Rick Potion #9" is a close second.

How about you? Favorite episodes, characters, or scenes?

"I, love, Morty and I hope Morty loves me. I'd like to wrap my arms around him and feel him inside me."

Couldn't stop laughing at that part, plus the rape scene in #5. Pretty immature humor actually but the laughs...been so long since something really made me laugh.

I love this show! One of my favorite bits was Gazorpazorpfield. "Rixty Minutes" and "Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind" are my favorite episodes so far.

^ Those are great, too. I'm considering getting them all on Blu-Ray to rewatch them. I think I heard it comes with a comic book or something as a bonus.

Re-watched ep. 'Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind' earlier. Laughed myself entirely stupid.

Rick is such a jerk. I love him.
plus the rape scene in #5.
Man. You know, that scene was funny, it was awesome to see Morty take names on his own, but it kind of hurt my heart to see him all weepy-eyed, conceding the challenge to Rick right after.

Like, for all that he spends a lot of time running screaming from mind-boggling danger, Morty's a tough, likeable little guy, and seeing him cry was really sad. Especially after he spent the greatest part of the episode all determined and never-say-die and all. I like that Rick is so nice to Morty for the rest of the ep, and I really like that he kasplodes the rape-monster with his ray-gun. Rick's a real ass, but I like that he's protective of his family (though he'd probably rather puke coat-hangers than admit it).

[EDIT: Man. So, this might sound odd, but one of my favourite moments in the series happens in 'Something Ricked This Way Comes', when Rick and Needful both do evil laughs, and they both laugh harder and harder each to try and top the other, to the point where they're both just shouting evil laughter for no reason. It's so bizarre.

I figure they were trying to display the emotional aftermath of rape/attempted rape when Morty was done fighting off the rape king. I liked they put the detail in, but I hear you.

Oh no, don't mistake me---------I'm not criticising the fact that they showed him cry after that whole deal. I mean, what fourteen-year-old kid wouldn't, that would be traumatic. Just saying it was a little sad. You know, I relate to characters, especially to your small underdog-types, and seeing them sad and afraid bothers me a little.

[EDIT: Like, it's good that it bothers me. Sign a show is good and well-crafted and effective, innit. Strong characterisation and all. Yeah.

I had lofty expectations and so far they've been fulfilled. Roiland and Harmon are on some next level ****.

i think we're currently in a golden age of television comedy (if not television in general) and rick and morty is at the forefront
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes
