Dungeons & Dragons - the one with the Wayans brother. That was horrible.

Any academy award for animation is always a farce. Especially since they started accepting CGIfests nowadays, too. Not that you can't do beautiful and artful CGI, but Disney and Pixar wouldn't have a clue what the hell that is.

It's pretty guaranteed one of the streaming services will get them now. Or if you're in the Midwest they still have family video cx[DOUBLEPOST=1426098392,1426098359][/DOUBLEPOST]
Better than Cars though. I hate Cars.
What

How

No

Opinions I guess, but...explain your hatred of it perhaps?

It's tied with the incredibles for second best Pixar film IMO.

I haven't seen Cars but I would think that I won't enjoy it either. I mean, come on, it's about cars. Pixar movies tend to have a central human theme to what they do. Toy Story was about growing up, Wall-e was about the extreme downside of technology, Finding Nemo about father and son bonding, etc, etc. Then you have Cars. And it's not about people and cars. Just actual cars. I started thinking about how Pixar would become more metaphorical and weird with their animations as the years went by. We saw the world through toys, bugs, fish, animals, eventually actual people, so it's like what's next? Forks? Pens? Books? No - cars. When I first heard of the movie I knew it was going to be the weakest of the Pixar films.

^The human element for Cars is the appreciation of history. Cars is an ok movie. Problem is that, relative to Pixar standards, "ok" is awful.
WALL-E
The Incredibles
Up
Toy Story
Ratatouille
A Bug's Life
Finding Nemo
Brave
Monsters Inc.
Cars
I'm gonna catch heat for this, but... Ferngully: The Last Rainforest. Even as a kid I hated it.
a) It's not the last rainforest.
b) The Australian rainforest isn't being logged.
c) Loggers wouldn't want the decrepit gnarly tree.
d) Dialogue is awful.
e) Batty Koda is a terrible name.
f) Batty Koda is a super-depressing character.
g) Krysta's resurrection comes out of nowhere & completely wrecks the significance of her self-sacrifice, & it's presented so clumsily that it genuinely feels like a completely different movie.
h) The romance subplot is completely idiotic & takes up way too much time.
i) What the crap did Hexus eat before there was man-made pollution?
k) Zack is such a boring character that I forgot to even mention him until the end of this list, even after indirectly referring to him twice before.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Don't be too angry Oscars don't mean much, since winners are chosen by a bunch of old white folks who sometimes haven't even seen the nominees themselves.

'Cars' is boring. The characters are flat and uninteresting. I can't take the story seriously because the premise is stupid.

Oh, and Mater is the most obnoxious fictional character this side of Jar Jar Binks. Every time he does or says anything it's just nails-on-a-chalkboard grating. I am utterly bewildered by people's love for this podunk faux-folksy jackass, no less than I am by the popularity of Larry the Cable Idiot in general.

Ferngully was cool as a kid, so I have some nostalgiac ties to it, but objectively it sucks like most cartoons. I think the only ones I can stomach are maybe Puss In Boots...and...I dunno. That one, I guess.

See, Incredibles for me is lower than most of those. Incredibles to me felt like a kid-friendly adaptation of Watchmen.

I haven't seen 'Incredibles', myself, but, like, I like comic books, I like 'Watchmen' (comic moreso than movie, but, you know, movie was a bit of alright), and I like 'Dr. Horrible'. I'm willing to observe a clever deconstruction of superhero mythos any day.

A sequel is in the works for The Incredibles and I'm definitely looking forward to it. I had a delayed reaction to The Incredibles because I didn't read Watchmen for a long time. Then I did and looked back at Incredibles and went "Oh, I see now." Not that it was a bad thing but, I dunno. I just had this automatic reaction like "Oh, they obvioulsy took that from Watchmen and played around with it." I don't want to reveal more since you haven't seen it, but the villain's backstory is quite entertaining and still brings something new to the table nonetheless. The movie also has an odd mesh of spy-superhero-adventure genre. Like, a quote from a critic on the back of the DVD case called it "X-Men crosses Raiders of the Lost Ark". If you add James Bond then it's the perfect description of the mix. But if I were to pick an actual serious reason why I don't find The Incredibles as enjoyable as others, it's because of the family theme. I cringe at families working together, mostly because mine never did or does and it just feels so alien seeing others do. Because kid-friendly family themed movies are always like "everyone is irritated by each others' differences BUT THEY ALL END UP LEARNING TO WORK TOGETHER!" and I'm like "okay but no. the dad's still a cheating douche, the mom is going to go under another wine-feuled depression and the kids are still going to whine and be ungrateful and the extended family is still going to gossip like hell"

Ultimately, my Pixar list is:
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Wall-e
Up
Monster's Inc
Finding Neo
Ratatouille
The Incredibles
A Bug's Life
Toy Story 3
Brave
Cars (haven't seen it but I am more than likely to put it down there)
Anything having to do with Cars and its fictional universe
But it's hard to really "rank" them for me because it's more a list that says "Which would I want to watch first if you asked me and had them all laid out?" All of them are more or less on the same level of enjoyment, but then Cars and its sequels/spin-offs would be like major outliers dropping to the bottom.

^It angers me that you haven't seen cars but are making pre-judgements on it, you will sometimes find that you'll like something that the majority don't. Now the planes movies were yes pretty bad (I don't even think those were pixar), but cars 1 and 2 were awesome and no one has said yet what they have against it which is annoying xD

I doubt anyone cares lmao but my pixar list:
Ratatouille
Cars tied incredibles
toy story 2 tied monsters U
cars 2
brave
finding nemo
up
wall-e
They're all good to a point, and the top 7 are seperated by merely a point or 2 in my mind but nonethe less xD
I don't remember much of bugs life at all, or the original toy story so I can't really say but ik they're better than toy story 3, the only pixar film I don't like at all. I recall buzz lightyear star command being one of my favorites as a child but I have no idea how it would hold up now xD
