i'm actually a big fan of season 4, though that might be because the highs of that season were ridiculously high ("The Debate" is a masterpiece)
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

I like season 4 a lot, too, but I think season 7 was more consistent.

But season 3 is like perfect seriously. Season 3 of Parks & Rec and Season 3 of The Wire are my favorite seasons of any TV shows ever. I wonder how season 3 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will turn out...
Meh. I've never found this show funny.

Honestly felt like it could have ended by Season 6. I was confused when they skipped ahead 3 years because I was like "Why does this feel like a series finale already?" Not that it could be the ending the way it is, but if it was written slightly different to tie up everyone else's personal lives, it could have ended there.

The last season, if you could even call it that, felt way too rushed IMO. It was funny, yeah, but sped by as if the writers just wanted to get it done. I wasn't able to feel like I was savoring the moments. To me it was too much jumping around. Then this happened and like months later and then a year later and blah blah. Like the whole mystery behind why Ron and Leslie's friendship went awry. At that point it felt wrong and kind of like they were milking things. At the same time enjoyable - but also. . .weird. Like putting on a pair of shoes that don't fit right but the color and style is still great.

I've never followed a show this closely and in real-time before. I wondered, however light, if Mark would show up again. It's funny because now when I look back I feel like he kind of slowed down the show. Once they took him out they really took him out. Absolutely no reference or cameo ever again.

^Mark represents an era of the show where it was written differently. It was originally a lot more like The Office, but when they moved it in the direction it wound up going Mark really didn't fit in anymore and the writers had trouble finding a solid place for him. That combined with the actor who plays him not really enjoying the role anymore led to him being written out, and the actor has said several times he never really wanted to make any further appearances.

As for the season feeling a touch rushed, that was mostly because NBC shorted them several episodes and then made them burn the season off by playing it two episodes at a time in a weird slot. It really felt like a wrap-up more than a proper season, like the entire thing was one long finale, but I was okay with that. It's like Season 6.5. Haha. And the final episode is **** perfect.

Yeah, I read an interview with him where his general smarminess and attitude made me really glad he was written off Parks and Rec. He just seems like he takes no joy in anything.

I'm on season 3 of the show now. It's pretty easy to see why they took him out of the show, Mark isn't interesting at all.

^^I had this weird feeling, as I watched him the first season, that he wasn't enjoying any of it. You know when you JUST KNOW an actor or actress hates what they're doing?
