You know, spoilers don't actually bother me a lot. Like, I'm here to enjoy the story-------presumably I'll like it just as much even knowing a bit of what happens at the end, divorced from all context.

^ Spoilers only matter much to me in very specific stories which hinge upon them either for story or reaction, or if things have been building toward an ending. If it's just that Goku kills Frieza in the new DBZ movie or something then it's no biggie.

Glad it won't diminish your experiences, though. That would be a shame.
Snagged the retail copy of TWD-S1 (the game, I mean). Tried (unsuccessfully) to avoid spoilers. Trying to hype myself up to get wrung through the wringer. It might be a minute. (Stalled on my 'not very nice at all' New Vegas playthrough---------like who knew being a total scumbag wouldn't be as rewarding as I thought.)
Totally off topic here, but if you haven't done it yet, playing up to the solar farm in New Vegas with 1 intelligence is absolutely worth it. The extra content cuts off after that area, unfortunately.

God, I love Kate McKinnon. I saw her do a comedy show in Lake Charles, and I swear that she will have my babies.

Anyway, the thought of an all-female cast is only offputting to me if the do it in a really meat-fisted way.

Dunno who she is but not once has a woman I saw do good stand-up. Film, yeah, hilarious. Something about their stand-up sucks.

Who've you seen as far as female stand-ups go?

Tig Notaro's one of the best stand-ups I've ever heard. Her Live at Largo set is legendary.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

I saw Cameron Esposito do a set on the Late Late Show once, & she was able to win over an apprehensive audience while under the intimidating gaze of guest Jay Leno (& the not-so-much-intimidating-as-just-plain-unsettling gaze of CraigyFerg). Good stuff.
Oh, & I saw Gilda Radner do a standup special once that was awesome.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

as far as the reboot is concerned, as long as it keeps the humor and charm of the original and keeps to the story of three scientists and an average joe running around New York in a refurbished herse and wielding proton packs and ghost traps to catch ghosts I think we'll be fine. I don't really care if they have an all female cast or not as long as they're good comedic actors/actresses.

and even if it does suck I still have the originals so whatever happens I'm not worried about it. I'll see it and judge it for myself.
beware the power of Bahamut\'s eldest son.

I play video games to escape reality. Why would I want to be a moron in my heroic fantasy life as well?

As for female comics, I like Paula Poundstone a lot. Tracey Ullman, too. Ellen's alright.

Can't I just play the video game instead?

Speaking of video games, that article mentions merchandising. Hopefully a real PS4 Ghostbusters is coming.

I'd watch Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum be Ghostbusters, though.

Think I'd prefer comic actors, personally. Like, kind of today's Murray/Ackroyd/Ramis equivalent. Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum have some acting chops, but they aren't really funny. (Or especially charismatic, come to that.)
