The Grand Budapest Hotel was delightful and it's nice to see it lead nominations but I doubt it'll win either major award that it's nominated for.

Boyhood will win Best Picture/Best Director because every single critic jizzed themselves at that movie.

Selma being snubbed for all major awards aside from Best Picture seems major.

How did The Lego Movie not get nominated for Best Animated Feature?

Also the Best Original Song people done **** up, but that category is a mess anyway.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

Has it really been a year since I saw a new movie? God. I need to get out more.

As far as foreign films go, I heard Leviathan was really good and wanna see it.

^^ Granted it's probably actually just because that category has been shafted on an annual basis, but I feel like The Lego Movie, though entertaining for sure, followed the exact same plot arc of like a million movies before it (a formula I'm kinda over tbh) with characters that were just tropes (I know this was intentional. That's why it was a great comedy and not a great movie) so I can see why it wasn't chosen... and if it had won I would have thrown a bitch fit about it lmfao

I'm glad Selma is up for at least Best Picture but no nominations in anything else is ridiiiiculous

l'm just absolutely **** stoked to see The Tale of Princess Kaguya nominated for best animated film. That movie was so incredible. It really touched me an a level very few movies ever have. Also, the unique animation style is fantastic.

I mean, not that it's completely out of the ordinary for something from Ghibli to get an Oscar nod.

I've seen:
Interstellar (5 noms)
Into the Woods (3)
Guardians of the Galaxy (2)
Lego Movie (1)
How to Train Your Dragon 2 (1)
Captain America: Winter Soldier (1)
X-Men: Days of Future Past (1)
Hobbit 3 (1)

I really wanna see Birdman, though.

^^'Birdman' is pretty fantastic. I have a hard time thinking when last I was that engaged by a movie. Michael Keaton was so good.

Like, I want to watch it again now. I can't remember the last time I was tempted to go see a movie in the theatres a second time.

I saw Boyhood last summer and it definitely deserves all the nominations. I wanna watch more of the Best Picture noms though.
I hope Big Hero 6 wins Animated Movie and Interstellar wins visual effects (they used projectors, models, and sets rather than just CGI) or Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, those ape animations probably were extremely difficult.

Birdman, Boyhood and Grand Budapest Hotel are on my watchlist.

I have the feeling How To Train Your Dragons 2 will win Best Animated Feature, even though I haven't seen the movie.

And I still don't get why Big Hero 6 isn't released yet in Belgium. I'll just watch it on DVD if the English version won't be released in theaters... Why does everything have to be dubbed...

I saw Inherent Vice on Saturday.

The nominees for best picture better be really damn good for it not being nominated.
