The end of Saturday Morning Cartoons

Yesterday was the last day of Vortexx. Why do you suppose the Saturday morning cartoon thing is dying?

I personally think it's because of DVR and the internet. Why wake up early to watch your favorite shows, when you can just go online and watch them anytime?

That's one reason. Another is economic: Animation can be expensive, & a lot of Saturday-morning cartoons survived by selling toys. With people having less money to spend lately, there's fewer toy purchases, & thus less monetary incentive to keep making these shows (at least not domestically).

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Man, Saturday morning cartoons were the shiz.

Kids don't want to wake up anymore these days.

Or maybe not - I dunno. That was my inner 80-year old making generalizations.

Man, I didn't like having to get up early to watch stuff any day, but I was pumped every Saturday. I don't really see why anyone should be rigid about holding on to a timeslot, though.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

You know, if you want to watch cartoons on Saturday morning, you can turn on, I don't know, Cartoon Network, or Disney, the Hub, or I guess Nick if you're some kind of idiot. (Sorry if you're a big fan of Nickelodeon, but like, 'Breadwinners' isn't much competition against the likes of MLPFiM, 'Regular Show' or 'Gravity Falls', here.

F*ck 'Breadwinners'. F*ck it right in the ear.)

Seriously. Saturday was meant for sleeping in. I always hated having to be up by like 8 or 9 just to watch my favorite cartoons.

I grew up Christian, even went to Catholic school, but we were one of those "only go to church on Easter" kind of families.
