Psychic Academy

Ever read the Manga? Currently, there are only two volumes out (Because it takes forever for Manga to get out here). It's pretty good, though personally, I think it could do with a bit less of Ai's love triangle between Orina/Sahra(sp) and Mew, and ALOT less Naked girls. (Sure, they're covered, and I HAVE seen worse in Ranma 1/2, Rahxephon, Inuyasha, and Neon Genesis: Evangelion, but they just come out of nowhere. But (Most of it) is at least covered by their hands). Plus, Zero (A.k.a, the vanquisher of the Dark overlord) really needs to stop acting less jerky and more like a teacher.

Overall, Psychic Academy is pretty good. It is occasionally funny and I do like the Aura Fights. But points are taken off for the Naked Girls coming without warning and that the Love Triangle gets pretty old.

What are your opinions on Psychic Academy?

Haven't heard of it yet. Maybe Shonen Jump will give it a preview in an upcoming issue?

Psychic Academy is done by Tokyopop, a different manga company from Viz, who does the english Shonen Jump. So don't count on it.

Snoopycool.com did a complete scanslation of the manga a while back, but they had to take it down when it was licensed. I never read it, but from I could tell it was fanservice, fanservice, fanservice. Which isn't always bad.

And Tokyopop kicks Viz's ass.

Both have good series (Viz has Naruto and One Piece, Tokyopop has Lupin and Sgt. Frog(best manga ever)), and both have stupid crap (Viz has Prince of tennis, Tokyopop has Saiyuki). I like them both about the same.

Yeah, but isn't Tokyopop's publishing rate lightning fast compared to Viz's?

Yeah. They got volume 2 of Psychic Academy out in a few months, and I barley even knew that Viz had 4 volumes of One Piece until Carter said so. (I saw half the of the first One Piece and loved it but those "graphic novel" sections in the bookstore are like 2 racks and most of them are Inu-Yasha, Prince of Tennis, DBZ and occasionally Ruroni Kenshin. I should actually consider myself lucky to find something other than the ones I mentioned. Though there is a HUGE comic book store that has an enormous manga selection, but they're on the other side of town from me and I can't drive.)

True. They've published like 15 volumes of Lupin III; I don't think any Viz series that isn't Inuyasha has seen above 10.

Viz hasn't done 4 volumes of One Piece YET. Volume 4 is due this month, I think.
