I heard this earlier from a relative who found out on Facebook. I thought it was just a false rumor at first but apparently it's real.

I can't even wrap my head around this. Robin Williams's work is so prevelant and he's such a core part of so much classic entertainment that it's hard to acknowledge that he's really gone.
Yeah, when I first heard it there were yet to really be reports from any news sources and was just tweets so I thought it was a hoax. Then there was a statement from Williams' family and I just got really sad.

I think the only time I've really been this affected by a celebrity death was Roger Ebert.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

I had just returned from a movie with my girlfriend when I saw it on my FB news feed. I didn't know how to react. It's going to feel so surreal without him, like something went wrong and we're branching off into an alternate dimension. He's going to be one of those "phantom pain celebrity deaths", someone who's still very much alive in your mind but nowhere to be seen again.
It's heartbreaking to think of him reaching that level of hopelessness.

"But doctor, I am Pagliacci."
This. It would have been bad enough to lose him any other way. The fact that he took his own life just makes this so much more distressing.

Williams' work was inescapable. He was a good man and lived an amazing life, and most of all he loved to make people laugh. It is with that knowledge and in his honor I say:

I don't know how familiar you all are with ROBBIE Williams, but I don't know how you could mistake the two.

What's more depressing is that his last tweet was a birthday message to his daughter.

RIP Robin Williams. I didn't actually watch a lot of the movies he was in, but Good Morning Vietnam was my favourite movie after I watched it.

I had seen in on Facebook and thought oh boy, "another death hoax".
Then I noticed the article had originally been posted by ABC.
I went to Google and saw results from sites I wouldn't exactly call "credible".
The next thing I did was go to his Twitter account.

It's still unbelievable to me.

Robin set up a trust fund for his kids, payable in part at age 21 & in full at age 30. :) Good man.

I'm gonna play dark for a second here: Even setting aside Dead Poets Society & What Dreams May Come for a moment, anybody here ever seen World's Greatest Dad? If you have, you'll understand why there's a tiny part of me nagging at the rest, asking "How did he really die?"

And I'll leave for now with something I think Robin would've appreciated, a variant on the "Serenity Prayer" that I call:
Lord"]

And remember,.....

Hopefully it wasn't suicide. It is sad when people who have reached many milestones decide to end it when other thought that person was for the most part happy, but he/she in reality is battling depression.

His daughter, Zelda, had to take down her Instagram and Twitter accounts because people were mocking and harassing her. Human beings can be completely indefensible at times.

I can't believe that ****, that's just straight up despicable. It makes you want to retaliate and show them that even strangers won't allow it to go unchecked.

It's disgusting. I want to blame the 4chan crowd because it seems like something they'd find entertaining.

An adult guilty of this needs to get professional help because he/she is clearly a sociopath. A kid needs to lose internet privileges and see a counselor.

If they're in the U.S, good luck with that. :/ Mental health is still seen as a bunch o worthless voodoo or a scam to get you addicted to expensive pharmaceuticals.
I mean, even when people were pointing out how Depression is a thing and were trying to make others who could have been in Williams's shoes know of help, a good number of responses were "Just get over it". Yeah, if depression was that easy to just "get over", I don't think stuff like this would happen now would it?

And dependable windbag Limbaugh is saying nasty stuff and trying to get attention for himself, as usual. Do yourself a favor and don't talk about it anywhere, it's how he makes his money.
