I don't know how well it would work with the GBA. The DS has more buttons, which can be a plus if X and Y were to be used for something other than jump (Y to grab, for instance). The touch screen wouldn't really have any need to be used though, except for possibly making setting up games, selecting characters, and entering names faster and easier. Not to mention an SSB for Game Boy would require everyone to own a link cable to work well.
It's like Mario Party Advance. It would have worked better on the DS, and just doesn't seem like it should be on GBA at all.
