There is a lot of bad stuff that happens, it is just that it is going to be a whole lot worse. Only a few people actually know or care about the impending doom coming. Most of the rest only care about the wars for various positions of power, who is king, and advancing their own interests. And then there is the horde of barbarians in front of the zombie apocalypse, because they are fleeing from it. It is not a very good place to be in.
And then later on most of the people in positions of power hate eachother, are incompetent, are psychotic, or all of those.

The man who is blind, deaf, and silent lives in peace.
If I wanted words I'd read a book.
Then maybe use your brain and not expect a show based on one of the most dense fantasy series' to be somehow magically unlike a book, with dialogue and exposition, for the love of all that is holy. This isn't a difficult concept to conceive on your own. What the hell.

Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.

So, like, if there's one negative thing I can say about 'Game of Thrones', the TV show, which I otherwise like a whole lot, it's the opening credits. Like, the whole animated map thing--------I might like it if the cities/regions were themselves more central to the series. But the whole thing turns so much more on characters, here. Like, I can't but hardly see why Winterfell even appears in the opening credits these days. (Pfffffft, watch as Arya or Sansa takes over the entire world by the end of this season.)
No bugs on the theme music, of course------that sh*t is TNT.
thrones, yeah, game of thrones, yeah, game of thrones, game of f*ckin thrones game of f*ckin thrones game of f*ckin thrones game of f*ckin

As far as Winterfell goes, I think the GoT people have hinted that they've kept it in the credits because apparently we haven't seen the last of that place.
