"...the returning original stars include:

  • Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia)

  • Anthony Daniels (C3PO)
  • Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca)
  • Kenny Baker (R2D2)"

Does it bug anyone else besides me that they forgot to put hyphens in the droids' names?

Hmm, that list seems to be missing Hayden Christensen, as Darth Vader's Evil Clone. (who will kill Han Solo and Boba Fett)

Honestly though, I think they should have set these new films in the distant future, a few hundred years after RotJ.

  • Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker and the voice of Joker in the Batman Arkham games)
[/quote]
So are you gonna credit Harrison Ford's other major roles? ;)

The only other iconic role Harrison Ford has, in my opinion, is Indiana Jones. Clearly he's had lots of roles, but I think that his defining roles are Han and Indy, like Mark Hamill's Luke and Joker.

Are there many others?

oh boy----we get to see the doughy dumpy geriatric versions of our childhood heroes

hope they've all got desk jobs

don't get me wrong, mark hamill has aged pretty well, but carrie fisher has gotten extremely large in recent years, and harrison ford is about a hundred-seventy years old

remember how very, very sad it was to see harrison ford hobble around in 'crystal skull', looking less like an action hero than like someone's poor sore-backed old grandad? add ten years and multiply by three----that's what it'll be like seeing luke, han and leia lurching around the screen again

as for peter mayhew and kenny baker, nobody cares about them---i guess it's nice they're actually getting a paying job and three squares a day outside the convention circuit for a change

It's not necessarily Hayden Christensen himself who was annoying but his character and his dialogue.

Have you seen a recent picture of Hamill? He looks more like Jabba the Hutt than Luke Skywalker right now.

NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! Hayden Christensen was right up their with jarjar! His acting was sooooo bad that not even the acting royalty of Ewan McGregor could get a rise out of him. Yes quite a bad script but a half decent actor could of least made the best of it. This is starwars! He should of given it the respect it deserved.

^^he's chubbed up a hair (about what one would expect from a sixty-year-old dude), but he's nowhere near the obese alcoholic old wreck that carrie fisher has become

incidentally, i'm strangely delighted that max von sydow of all people is one of the newcomers to the star wars universe-----like, even neverminding the fact that he's a terrific actor, he's also old as the very hills (think he was born seventy)

forget about piloting starfighters, they should just have all these old fogies driving around in rascal scooters-----haha

'use the force, dyedushka---also, turn off your blinker already, you've had it on for twelve parsecs'

...i just made myself sad...

But that's what I mean, you're not complaining about the Jar Jars actor just his character and his dialogue, the script.

That's like saying a better actor could have delivered a better portrayal of Jar Jar Binks, he did a reasonable considering what he had to work with it's a bit unfair to put the blame on him for that.

Jar jar was told what to do and animated. He had a really hard time showing any emotion so much so he would turn his face away from the camera when trying to show anger. Every line was delivered like Steven Hawkins. He can not act and if new where it was I would gladly poo on his car!!

jarjar was sort of a perfect storm of horribleness----awful writing delivered in an awful manner by an awful character

i don't blame ahmed best for that-----he gave lucas precisely what lucas wanted, not his fault that lucas wanted absolute dogsh*t

i really think hayden christiansen (and natalie portman, for that matter) are decent actors----they came off badly in the prequels, but, you know, come right to it, nobody could make that horrible writing work

hell, even rad actors like liam neeson, ewan mcgregor and christopher lee were struggling (about the only person who did okay was ian mcdiarmid, and thats mostly because they let him go nuts and really yuck it up in 'sith'-----the only salvageable thing in that whole sh*tfest)

If he had a character like Luke Skywalker to work with he probably would have been on a par with Mark Hamill in terms of acting. Look at how Samuel L Jackson ended up when delivering his performance Mace Windu he sucked in that role, he's normally a great actor.

mace windu is a boring prick-----samuel l jackson is wasted in roles that don't call for intensity, swearing and yelling

they should have given that role to someone else and had samuel play a really cool dude-----someone like, well, lando calrissian

guess the prequels didnt have any roles like that

oh well

oh well

hey, maybe they should have cast him instead of christopher lee as count dooku-----you know, make the character really charismatic and dynamic and likeable, do sort of a 'the last person you might suspect was a sith lord' thing with him

maybe that'd have been better than casting a scary-looking old man who instantly makes people think of saruman and dracula and sh*t just by sheer virtue of his past roles

but hey, what do i know
