I hear it's supposed to be the Mandarin, but why would a Mandarin talk like some hybrid of Agent Smith & Charles Barkley? A "turrorist" indeed.

And remember, 'I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

What's with the army of Iron Men? I wasn't nerdy about Marvel or comic books of any variety until I saw The Avengers, which singlehandedly changed my life, so I need a little fill-in on the details. Has there ever been a comic in which there's a hundred guys in Iron Man suits?

The Iron Man suits can mostly be controlled by artificial intelligence nowadays, and there was even a very strange story arc where a malfunctioning suit became obsessed with Tony Stark.

Without spoiling anything, for VERY good reason.

Has anyone else seen this? I quite enjoyed it, though I would still say the 1st is my favorite. The pacing is a bit sluggish at times, and tonally its really different from the Favreau films, but Shane Black does a pretty good job. Lots of humor, but also much darker than previous iterations. Overall, though, I really enjoyed it.

Just saw it, it was very different than the past 2, definitely felt more "comic-booky" (which isn't a bad thing), and I like how it focused a lot more on Tony's psyche than, well, Iron Man. It's almost hard to talk about without spoiling too much, but there were a lot of things, especially about The Mandarin, that I... ahem ...never saw coming. And I have to applaud the way they handled War Machine/Iron Patriot in regards to anticipated fan reaction, that was pretty great.

Overall, it was everything I expected... and everything I didn't. I thought it was really good.

I usually wait until movies come out on DVD. Or until I can TiVo them at no charge. ;) This sounds promising, so please don't spoil too much!

alright first I have to start with the preview thoughts because i like talking about previews:

Thor: The Dark World. I have no idea what this movie is supposed to be about at all. I honestly couldn't tell. But Tom Hiddleston is back as Loki so I will see it if not only for more Hiddleston. Also I've never seen one of Alan Taylor's other movies but he's directed episodes of The Sopranos, Lost, Rome, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire and Game of Throne which is a really impressive list.

The Wolverine. This is a movie I'm much more excited about. I'm kinda disappointed that Darren Aronofsky left the project because I REALLY want to see what an Aronofsky-directed comic book movie would be. The premise is interesting and I like the idea of taking an X-Men movie away from all the mutants and just focusing on Wolverine. Only reservation for me right now is that James Mangold is hit-and-miss as a director (3:10 to Yuma and Walk the Line are awesome; Knight and Day? Not so much)

After Earth.
I have no desire to see Will Smith and his son in a post-apocalyptic science fiction movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan. I like how trailers don't mention that it was directed by M. Night, because they probably have the terrible, terrible taste of The Last Airbender in their mouths, as well they should, because that movie was an absolute travesty.

Man of Steel. Dear Zack Snyder, don't **** this up like Bryan Singer did. For the love of God, you're surrounded by so many talented people. DON'T. ****. IT. UP.

okay now for Iron Man 3, everything spoiled because sure.
This was so much better than Iron Man 2, it's not even funny. Iron Man 2 is definitely the black sheep of the first-wave Avengers films, not that it's a necessarily bad film, just entirely forgettable. I remember distinctly pretty much everything that happened the night I saw Iron Man 2 in theaters. I cannot tell you anything about what happened in the film itself other than the fact that War Machine was there, Mickey Rourke had electric whips, and Scarlett Johansson was wearing really tight clothes. So I was skeptical about Iron Man 3, especially considering the fact that "threequels" generally are bad (can't think of a good "part three" movie to come out in the past 13 years aside from Return of the King, The Bourne Ultimatum, and The Dark Knight Rises).

This movie entertained the **** out of me. It's pretty much how I would describe the perfect "summer-starter" movie. It's probably the most I've laughed during an Iron Man movie despite being much darker tonally. The trailers that I saw kinda over-emphasized the LOOK HOW MANY IRON MEN THERE ARE thing that happened at the end of the film, so I was slightly skeptical of that. It was nice to know that the movie instead focused more on Stark outside of the suit.

The only complaint I had was that the movie sometimes got a little too chaotic. I have a friend who described it as "a comedic Dark Knight Rises." I'm inclined to agree because at points the movie seemed to go overboard with the twists and turns.

Everybody's gonna compare this to The Avengers. I mean, if you compare it to The Avengers, it's definitely gonna fall flat, but The Avengers I think is in a class of its own as far as comic book movies go (mostly because it is the most perfect summer Blockbuster action comedy comic book movie ever and if you think otherwise I WILL COME AT YOU) so I'd disagree with the comparison. Comparing it to the other Marvel Cinematic Universe films though, it definitely holds up.

Also Ben Kingsley was ****ing awesome. And post-credit Mark Ruffalo scene was ACE. They should pepper in some Ruffalo in every Marvel movie from now on.

Also at the end it says "Tony Stark will return", which I hope means appearance in other Marvel films as a cameo or in Avengers 2. Because I think the ending of this movie wraps things up too nicely to expand into something other than a trilogy.
^ I'm still mad that Ghostface Killah only got a deleted cameo in the first one. He deserves so much more.

^ I'm still mad that they didn't choose Ghostface Killah to play Iron Man himself. I mean, Robert Downey Jr. is okay, but Ghostface is well known to be one of the greatest thespians of our time.

I can imagine it now. Tony Starks comes straight out the slums of Shaolin to become one of the greatest inventors of his age, but after being attacked by a swarm of killa beez, he has to protect his neck and builds an iron suit. He then begins to fight crime His colleagues include his faithful Chef Lex Diamonds and his sidekick Bobby Digital. Bobby Digital eventually gets fed up with Starks and becomes the evil RZArector, allong with his sadistic henchman Method Man, who has a penchant for torture, mother****er. Eventually, Tony Starks comes out on top by defeating both of the villains with his scooby snack jurassic plastic gas booby traps. Sequels deal with how cash begins to run everything around Starks, and his ventures to get the money result in him putting everyone he loves in danger.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

I'm actually quite glad you spoiled all this.

Anyway, I heard that, when RDJ gets too old to play Tony Stark, they'll replace him with someone else. I vote Jeremy Sisto. I mean, come on! He looks and sounds just like RDJ (at least IMO).

That said, who would you vote to replace RDJ when the time is come?
