Well, it's that time of year again. Boomerang's annual Earth Day Captain Planet marathon. Anyone gonna watch it?

The only thing cool about 'Captain Planet' is the eco-villains. Like, in most cases, people hurt the environment as an accidental side-effect of their endeavours---like, air pollution generated by industry, habitat destruction caused by human expansion...that kind of thing. But the eco-villains pretty much just want to murder the planet, like, for kicks. There's something rad about that sort of insane pointless evil. (Oh, and Doctor Blight? Yowza. You pollute that planet, baby. It's getting hot in here, and not just cuz of global warming.)

Rest of the show is garbage. Planeteers are dumb, Captain Planet himself is dumb, writing is dumb and preachy.

Sometimes I think of how much Captain Planet merch must be sitting around in landfills right now, and I feel a dark joy deep inside.

LET OUR POWERS COMBINED

Nah, I probably won't. Besides, we switched cable providers, so I'm not sure if we even have Boomerang anymore.

Captain Planet is a horrible, horrible show that I watch knowing full well that it is horrible and from which I derive enjoyment for the reason that it is horrible.

i definitely cant take a marathon in one sitting though jeez

I really don't need a marathon either. One episode will pretty much fill my narm quota for the day.

Wasn't the red haired guy voiced by the same actor as the EXCUSE ME PRINCESS Link?

Guess not, they just remind me of one another, I guess. It might have to do with them both being douchelords.

Speaking of voices, I'm looking over the cast list, and I've just now learned that earth-ring-ass "let our powers combine" kid was actually our man LeVar Burton, of 'Reading Rainbow' and 'Star Trek TNG' fame. Wacky.

And holy crap---dumb 'heart' Indian kid later went on to voice Lloyd in 'Tales of Symphonia'! How does that make you feel, CL?
