Man, ILJD, your movie is really inconsistent between dark and serious vs. pie-in-the-face physical humor, just like the first time.
But come on, a serious Bowser who doesn't make us laugh? A Bowser Jr. who only does something funny once? An ending that, IMHO, feels like it's written by a teenage girl on fanfiction.net? DUDE! IT'S FRIGGIN' MARIO!!! IT'S A CARTOON MOVIE!!! FOR KIDS!!!

I'm adding a few twists in this so it's fun for both kids and adults, besides I'm giving Bowser some funny momentsColonel KR wrote:Man, ILJD, your movie is really inconsistent between dark and serious vs. pie-in-the-face physical humor, just like the first time.

See, this sounds more like you're a producer than a Mario enthusiast; as opposed to talking about how you can passionately display a Mario film of high quality, you're throwing in a bunch of big-name actors and talking about how you can throw in things so kids and adults will be into it. Make a good movie that isn't too one-sided and kids and adults will be into it, don't cram a bunch of slapstick gags into the project just so some kid can laugh. Smart writing and pacing is what makes humor, well, humorous, not some individual getting hit in the face with a pan.
Why is Arnold Schwarzenegger Donkey Kong? Because his voice is deep? While having DK in the movie would be fun, I'm of the opinion that Arnold would be a terrible match for the ape. If we're dream-casting the roles, go for Grant Kirkhope, if anyone. He did DK64's "OKAY."
I don't really get your having Robin Williams as Luigi. It just seems..unnecessary, in a sense. I dunno, I don't have as strong of an opinion on that.
Anyway, stop trying to sell your project. Present it and put some thought into it, don't go for lul-gags and Arnold Schwarzenegger, go for quality. I couldn't quite care less about whether or not you think kids and adults will like it, though I'm a tad concerned for the seniors; write it so that's it's good. If it is, most will like it, not some crap-worth target audience.

Or maybe Mr.T, Hulk Hogan, Terry Crews, Ron Perlman, Sylvester Stallone, or Bruce Willis as Donkey Kong1-up Salesman wrote:See, this sounds more like you're a producer than a Mario enthusiast; as opposed to talking about how you can passionately display a Mario film of high quality, you're throwing in a bunch of big-name actors and talking about how you can throw in things so kids and adults will be into it. Oh no. MORE NICOLAS CAGE ADDICTS!?!? THERE'S NO ESCAPE! HEY INTERNET: SHUT UP ABOUT THAT IDIOT CAGE WHO CANNOT ACT!!! WE GET THAT YOU LIKE HIM, BUT SOME PEOPLE DO NOT! HE IS AN ACTOR WHO HAS LOST HIS INSTRUMENT! SHUT UP!!!Tunnel Snakes RULE! wrote:You know, you're right about that, it needs to be addressed, and I've got two words for you:
Nic Cage.
Okay, I'm sorry I screamed, but on the last thread, Cage was all they ever talked about, and it got annoying. Fast.

I mean there was a time when he could act. That time has passed, sadly, and many of his action movie roles seem kinda phoned in and robotic. I don't hate him. I just don't want to repeat pages and pages of Cages. Can we all please just keep our opinions about Cage to ourselves? Thanks!IloveJeffDunham wrote:Can't act?! How did he get an Oscar then?

I'm not hot for Nic Cage, but I do love me some Nick Offerman! That man is my hero.1-up Salesman wrote:>Almost everything recently posted.

Not that I think Cage is an especially bad actor, but Oscars generally mean squat when it comes to talent. Some of the best actors of all time never won an Oscar, while some of them are being given to any bum who can make a face and say a line.IloveJeffDunham wrote:Can't act?! Can I get this engraved on a placard?X-3 wrote:Though you'll have to get someone else for Luigi and Waluigi, Robin Wiliams and Adam Sandler will be too busy playing Eggman and Sonic respectively in my Sonic movie by Universal Studios, directed by Christopher Nolan. Don't think of bringing in Kenan Thompson or Shia Labeouf though, they're playing Knuckles and Tails.

Can you double that order?
Also, just so you guys know, I was first to envision Mr. T as the voice of DK. I chose T not because of star power but because his voice sounds like a tougher, gruffer version of the one DK was given by English-Canadian actor Richard Yearwood in that old TV show Donkey Kong Country, one of history's earliest known attempts at a fully CGI TV show. Yearwood may be English-Canadian, but he made DK sound like a black guy without a doubt. And he had an impeccable singing voice.
Anyway, assuming my Nintendo movie series does get published some years into the future, if T can't show, my backup choice is voice actor Kevin Michael Richardson, who once voiced a Mr. T-like action hero, Action Hank, in that old TV show Dexter's Laboratory.
