That would require someone in Hollywood actually seeing this screenplay, which will never happen.

I see you're going back to Mario's roots by placing a bad rapper in the lead. I'm not sure, though, do you think Marky Mark has enough EDGE?

What's rapping have to do with any of this? Are you saying Whalberg was a rapper?

Don't get me wrong, it's nice that you have a dream.
But, this thing will MOST LIKELY never get off the ground. Also, you react negatively to criticism.
Let's be honest: You know what the bigwigs are gonna do when they see your screenplay? They're gonna throw it right into the trash. There are probably THOUSANDS of talented screenplay writers, actors, directors, and producers who wouldn't even be given the time of day by Hollywood. What makes you think you have a better chance than them?

Maybe you should start smaller before jumping to Hollywood.

We are NOT trying to be mean. We're simply trying to give you a harsh dose of reality, so you don't get laughed out of Hollywood.

What makes you think the people in your proposed cast will even be interested? I'm almost POSITIVE you don't have enough money to pay all of them, or even MOST of them, unless you have a HUGE amount of money somewhere.
However, I DO like your optimism.

I majored in film in college. I may not be a part of the industry but I know how it works.
If you were attempting to make a less ambitious personal project you could make it happen.
This won't. Disney wouldn't even greenlight a script to a Mario movie unless they made a deal with Nintendo and got the rights for one. At that point, they would seek out already experienced screenwriters for their project. Even if someone did see your screenplay, it would be treated as a spec script - basically, a sample showing what you're capable of doing - instead of a screenplay that actually stood a chance of being made. The next point from there would be that you would be handed jobs that are assigned to you - most likely working on drafts and rewrites of films that may never actually come to fruition. If you're credited with the final draft of a film that becomes a big success, then and only then will you get some room to greenlight your own projects as a screenwriter.
If you want to make movies, that's fantastic and I encourage you to go for it, but
start out small. You're in over your head. Feel free to ask about it at one of the
several other websites you've posted about it at.

*Applauds King Bomby.* And there appears to be a Colonel KR for every one of these threads! But why do I get the sense that two of the threads are identical to one another?

I'm a pop culture enthusiast, but pop culture is so big, I guess you can't know all of it in one lifetime.
Fun fact, though: Wahlberg played the titular role in the video game film
Max Payne, and he was nominated for Worst Actor at the Golden Raspberry Awards. Just sayin'...
MAR-TI-NET! ALL THE WAY!
Or Bobby Moynihan if Martinet can't make it. Yeah, Moynihan sometimes plays this Italian guy on SNL's Weekend Update segment who's prone to malapropisms (I believe the character's name is Anthony Crispani or something). When he does, he sounds identical to Martinet's Mario.

If they ever did do a Mario CGI movie, I'd recommend using Charles Martinet. It's the voice everyone knows, not the thick, Brooklyn voiced used in the Super Mario Brothers Movie and the cartoons.

That's my plan, except I've toned down the rate of interjections like "Woo-hoo!" greatly. That way, he'll sound more believably human.
Speaking of voice actors, ILJD, have you seen my Scott Burns bio video in the videos section here on this site?

It's nice of you to try an make him feel better, but there are interns for throwing unsolicited scripts in the bin.
Entertainment industries are all about past performances, which Bomby (and everyone else) is completely correct about. Even if you have a good script, that bears little weight on the subject of whether or not anyone will even consider making your movie.

Of course you don't. You never have, and you never will.
Then again, they didn't give the poor guy much of a chance. Shouldn't have forced him to dub over Japanese mouth movements.
Anyway, I put up that video not just because he's Bowser but also because he just looks like a really cool human being, perhaps one of the most interesting men in my book.
SCOTTY: I don't always voice Bowser, but when I do, the character's softer side shows.
