So many callbacks. It's glorious. Also, I see that they decided to canonify 'alicorn'. Which isn't really significant, since that's actually what they are, but this is the first time any reference has been made to their genus, so yeah. Also, that intro was fantastically produced.
Man, I need to catch up on this. All I saw was the pilot.

You are not surprised that the amulet is cursed? If that's the case you are probably the first.

So, that Scootaloo episode.
Looks like Mentor Dash is canon. Also, it won't be long before Luna Kruger artwork shows up. And on another note, I really like how well-designed those woods were.
It's a bit fan-servicey, but I think S3 is doing it better than S2 did. S2's idea of fanservice was just trying to send the brony audience into hysterics with the likes of Derpy and Lyrabon. S3 is actually referencing things that happened in the show.

Just my opinion, though.

Oh, I agree. I love just about every episode so far, save for maybe the Trixie one, but even then I still liked the Trixie episode.

Well, it's more rewarding people who had watched the show before. Like how Rarity and Sweetie Belle act towards each other. (Then again I still wonder why Sweetie Belle is so willing to put up with Rarity sometimes, even IF it's played for laughs.)

I know this. I was heavily anticipating Trixie's return, and I did really like the episode, but I like the others more.

Canon-nod fanservice isn't so much fanservice as it is a nod to character development and continuity. It's much appreciated, sure, but I think of fanservice as being pointless and dumb whereas stuff like this actually has a meaning??

Idk it's fanservice in that it does a service to fans but it's more meaningful than that if you understand what over-studied and tired me is trying and failing to convey right now

I don't think it's fanservice, it's just the creators doing things that they would've done anyways. There's a set of characters and the fandom extrapolated based on what existed, just like what the official show writers do.

So.

Is it just me, or is the show sort of been mostly about Applejack and Rainbow Dash this season?

Like, I know those two are my favrits and all, but I totally like all the main six. Are there gonna be Fluttershy and Rarity eps in the offing soonish, or what?

Actually, the next episode to air is a Fluttershy episode.
Also a Discord one.
And if I'm not mistaken, there were literally no Rarity episodes in 2012. That should be remedied.

Maybe not remedied, more like "made up for".

Much better. How many episodes are left in the season?
