The film follows a traveling theater troupe whose leader, having made a bet with the Devil, takes audience members through a magical mirror to explore their imaginations and present them with a choice between self-fulfilling enlightenment or gratifying ignorance.

Did anyone see this? Did you enjoy it?

Saw it on the big screen when it came out. I'd call it a rental. It had some amazing visuals, and a couple good performances (Tom Waits as the devil is pretty much the awesomest casting ever), but the story was kind of a bewildering clustercuss---like, you expect an amount of that in any Gilliam flick, but this one just left me thoroughly confused. Dealbreaker.

Like, I really like Terry Gilliam, and I'd recommend just about any of his movies in a heartbeat, except for this one.
