I've seen it twice now and I want to see it again. I haven't felt this way about a summer blockbuster-type movie since The Dark Knight.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

I think it's safe to say that Dark Knight Rises is going to have to be the best movie ever made to top the Avengers.

Dang, you guys are slow. I'm watching it again tonight so I can properly talk about it with you Americans. It's been so long, I forgot a lot! haha. Mid-April. Yikes.

That may or may not be my excuse to go watch it again.

Haven't watched it but my teacher (who has an intense love for all things Marvel and/or comic books) said there was little to no depth, but otherwise was a good movie. Not really sure if I wanna see it or not myself, but I will if I get the opportunity.

Fun with box office numbers! (I'm the Ezra Klein of this ****. Too bad I don't have any graphs)

The Avengers crossed the $1 Billion mark internationally this weekend (in 14 days) and looks to be the first movie to make over $100 million in its second week in the US. It's already the 11th highest grossing film of all time internationally (as of May 14, this link subject to change over time; not adjusted for inflation).

At this rate, it will more than likely reach the top five highest grossing films of all time, if not top three. Anyone want to take bets?

More fun with numbers:
The Avengers made an estimated $103,163,000.
Dark Shadows (#2 this week) made an estimated $28,805,000
That's approximately 3.58x the money.

In its opening week (ending May 6), The Avengers was the number one movie in every country last weekend reported by Box Office Mojo except for Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Israel, Italy, Japan, Poland, and Slovakia. That's 43 out of 51. Of those countries, the film had only opened in Austria, Bahrain, and Italy, making 43 out of 46 possible countries. Expect a big opening in Japan.

I'm going to make a prediction that The Avengers will surpass Titanic, but not Avatar. Adjusted for inflation it's currently #105 domestically, I'm predicting it will make the top 20 by the end of its run.

The Avengers has already recouped more than 4.55x its production budget. Still, this is in second place to Think Like a Man for the year so far, which has made 6.82x its original budget. One can also assume that enough money was spent promoting The Avengers (which we won't know, thanks to shady Hollywood bookkeeping practices) to widen the gap between the two.

I really liked the chemistry Banner/The Hulk had with the other characters.

Saw it for the second time, it's just as great. Of course I was able to catch a few lines here and there that I didn't the first time.
"Better clench up, Legolas."
Also, oddly enough, one of my favorite parts of the movie is how the council looks on the screens. I mean, look at this, it's awesome.

Same here, they've really made him likable. Before all you would ever hear from him was about how he is a monster and needs a cure and should be dead. They made him kind of...snarky, to be honest. He was a really fun character and had a great connection with Tony Stark.

By the way,
am I the only one that thinks that the ring Pepper was wearing at the end was an engagement ring? I figured that was why that was there.
