Really, you can't just change a critical component of a franchise just because you think it will appear to today's generation.
Older Turtles fans want to see this movie too, you know. Consider them too.

Why not do a gritty reboot? Anybody who was a fan of TMNT back in the day is well into adulthood now. And gritty reboots are all the rage. They're rebooting already.

^Because the 2007 TMNT movie was dark & gritty & GOOD & didn't defy the freaking definition of the title of the franchise. So why aren't they building off of THAT instead of rebooting?
