Series two just started but I've yet to watch the first episode. It's recorded, just need to find some time.

First series is great.

New season - Series 2- began last night. It was great... the episode was A Scandal in Belgravia

I don't know if you can watch it here if you missed it: A Scandal in Belgravia
"A Scandal in Belgravia", episode one of the second series of the TV series Sherlock, was loosely adapted from the short story and aired on 1 January 2012, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes, Martin Freeman as Watson and Lara Pulver as Irene Adler. The plot of the short story – Holmes and Watson attempting to recover incriminating photos from Adler – is covered briefly in the first half of the episode and updated for the contemporary period (Adler's photos are stored digitally on her mobile phone, and the royal they incriminate is a female), before the episode moves on to an original storyline that includes Adler, Mycroft Holmes (Mark Gatiss) and Jim Moriarty (Andrew Scott).

My sister has been telling me about this show for a couple months now, and how much I need to watch it. Thanks for the reminder, HotD.

My roomies and I fangirl over this constantly. We seriously have Sherlock-viewing parties at least once a week.

Also in addition to it being fantastic in its own right there are so many glorious references to the books that are added in a perfectly modernized context and it is fantastic
the power of love and friendship obviously.

Actually I'm convinced Molly had something to do with it, and that's why Sherlock "needed" her. According to Moffat the key to his survival has to do with something "extremely out of character" that he did. The only thing I can think of is him jumping off of a building. so.
Another amazing episode this week - The Hounds of Baskerville!!

If you have missed it, you could try to see it here: The Hounds of Baskerville
Based on The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the episode investigates the strange activities at a military base. Gatiss intended to follow elements of the horror genre and make the episode scary.

Season Final last night... The Reichenbach Fall and it had sad bits in it... :(

You might be able to see it here: The Reichenbach Fall
Loved the ending... and especially the part when John said "Don't be dead. For me." and then we see Sherlock watching... I'm curious as to how they will explain how Sherlock survives that fall... which made me cringe!!!
Bring on Season 3!!! :D
