Out of curiosity, how far did you get?

I have the utmost respect for people who get through the 400s. I ADORED the series, and that was hard for me. It was the longest streak of not-good filler vacation murders ever. I mean, I don't care if a murder isn't plot-relevant because most of them aren't, so long as they're INTERESTING.

Suffice it to say that you can tell which cases were from the manga and which are anime originals because the latter tend to not be as good.

[the Kaito Kid episodes are all awesome though guaranteed or your money back]

Fortunately there are enough murder-in-a-mansion episodes for there to be plenty of THE BUTLER DID ITs, as well as plenty THE BUTLER DIDN'T DO ITs and even THE BUTLER WAS THE ONE WHO GOT KILLEDs.

Rule 1 of Conan though: the bitchiest person dies. Always. And there will be three suspects.

Although if you want to be one of the cool kids you should start on One Piece. Because it's awesome. Or Conan. Because it is also awesome. jussayin
Well tbh I'm only 30 episodes in :(

There are hundreds of One Piece episodes, right? Well, not counting the dub, I believe I've watched a total of... two episodes. That counts, right?

Also Barbarians > Detectives

DUH

That movie was seriously awesome. I was expecting mediocre and I got WIN. Puzzles, gentlemen, swordfights on giant robots. What is not to like.

I actually heard that they plan on two more movies-- so that'll make two trilogies of games and a trilogy of movies, total. The next movie will be set after the Mask of Miracle [the game that's out in Japan but won't be here for another century].

it cannot come out fast enough :{<

I don't really watch most anime; I read manga. And with some, there's plenty of material for an archive binge. Especially around stuff like Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, Bleach, and even some finished series like Akira or Nausicaä. (Akira's a real door-stopper!)

Also it's a lot easier to go through 100 chapters of manga than 100 episodes x{D

I haven't read any manga longer than xxxHOLiC and Tsubasa, which are each just about 100 chapters long, save the longer anime I watch, of which I've read parts of the manga too. Mostly when I am caught up and want more x{D

Yep; even though sometimes those 100 episodes do have some nice filler arcs. I actually went to a site and watched that filler arc in Naruto shippuden where they gave some development to Utakata. (A character who was killed off-screen in the manga but given some screentime in the Anime.)

Oh filler arcs. I remember that one time in One Piece anime, toward the very climax of the Robin arc where they suddenly realized OH SNAP WE ARE WAY TOO CLOSE TO THE MANGA WHAT DO WE DO WHAT DO WE DO WHATDOWEDO.... and suddenly there were like 30 episodes of flashbacks to tragic pasts you already learned about. Every character's tragic arc was replayed, in case you forgot.

I mean, they were interesting, but repetitive and kind of interrupted one of the most awesome climactic parts of the series so yeeah

And then they just have the "shenanigans on a random island that has nothing to do with anything" arcs that last a bit too long. This is definitely true. x{D

Something that not everyone gets is that evidently, they have to be continuously making the shows on TV in Japan. If something like that happened out here, they'd just stop for the season and let the manga go on but in Japan, appraently that's akin to being canceled.

I know why they did it I just wish they put the filler in BEFORE one of the most climactic parts of the series. x{D

Like, if they realize that they are catching up to the manga really quickly and that a hugely important part is coming up soon, they should probably put the filler in before they get to that point. Or not. Whatever.

then again flashbacks are kind of nice in a long series because you kind of forget what happened in earlier episodes but TIMING is of the essence

If I recall, Bleach made a bunch of random filler arcs in the middle of something climactic, too. XD

How far in was that? I stopped watching after they saved Rukia from being executed or something and realized that I didn't particularly care for any of the characters

This was during the later arcs though.

Right now the Manga is entering its final arc, evidently.

Supposedly a lot of the super long shows are coming to an end soonish.

Okay, so I only know of 2, but still. One Piece, although I'm sure it still has hundreds of episodes left, is supposedly in its final stretch [what with the final boss of the series actually finally for sure set and them finally in the New World], and Bleach is in its final arc.

conan on the other hand might well be solving mysteries into the 1000s >_>
