The collective build-up for The Avengers

Okay, I was never really big on The Avengers. Separately, the various hero-types were pretty cool, but I just didn't get into the group dealie. I think if I went back to read the comics now, I'd probably enjoy them more than I did earlier, though.

However, The Avengers movie (due out May 2012) looks AWESOME. I've been a big fan of the Iron Man, Thor, and The Incredible Hulk movies already. The idea that there is a large collection of films, many of which were designed specifically to lead into The Avengers movie, is pretty awesome. It's more than a bit disappointing that Ed Norton won't be reprising Bruce Banner,

I think the best thing I've heard about the movie, though, is the following "trivia" from imdb.com
The cast became good friends while filming so if all the actors happened to be filming scenes together in the same place, they would go out together after. Chris Evans (Captain America) once sent a text message to Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson) simply saying "Assemble", which is the tagline for the movie. Gregg stated that this was his favorite text message ever sent to him.
Awesome. XD

This will probably be a movie I go to the cinemas to see. Too many great actors playing great roles!
Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.

This just may be the first movie I go to a midnight showing of.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Yeah, this movie is gonna be massive. The buildup has been years in the making and I think the payoff is just gonna be great.

Also, directed by Joss Whedon. yes please.
