Favorite Obscure Actors?

Pretty self-explanatory.

Matt Frewer
Matt Frewer - IMDb

Though he's played in some decently well-known pictures, and is semi-famous, he's not exactly a household name either.

I first saw him act in the very (appropriately) over-the-top role of cat in the hat in "In Search of Dr. Seuss" (TV movie) when I was a kid, and have since also seen him in such movies as "The Case of the Whitechapel Vampire" (TV Movie) and "The Hound of Baskervilles" (also a TV movie) as the well-known sleuth Sherlock Holmes and in the superhero movie "Watchmen" (Actually NOT a TV movie, surprisingly) as Moloch. (I didn't actually know it was him at the time I saw it)

I've noticed that this actor has a fairly large range, and does a great job at over-the-topness when he has to, but in a good way.

If you clicked the IMDB link, you might've noticed he's also done much in the line of voice-over work as well. Which in many cases actually works well with over-the-topness.

Either way, he's one of my favorites, and I was just curious about some others that you may like to list.

EDIT: This topic applies to both TV and Movie actors, I wasn't sure if it fit better there or here, but the way I figure it, the best of acting talent is USUALLY shown off in movies, and not television programs, so yeah. Think of it what you will.

^Then why bother posting in this topic?

Reb brown
I'll admit the only full film of his I've seen is Space Mutiny, but I've seen plenty of clips of his preferred acting method.

Lam Suet and Jo Koo: Two great actors in Hong Kong who mostly show up in bit parts.

Of course, if you consider that 90% of international actors are obscure to the anglosphere, then I can mention one of the most underrated actors on earth: Lau Ching-Wan. Big difference is that he gets his fare share of leading roles these days, after years of hard work.

When I tell my friends that one of my favorite actors is Christopher Lee, most of them don't know who he is.

Does that count?

Ooh, subtle; I like it!

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Donald Pleasance is pretty rawsome. So are Brian Blessed and Derek Jacobi.

And Michael Gough.

And Peter Cushing and Basil Rathbone.
